I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 67

Jorrod looked over.

His dark eyes paused.

"They're probably buying daily necessities for moving in together," Sienna said. "Just trail behind them. Whatever they grab, you grab the same thing. Except for pajamas and slippers, for everything else..."

She estimated the amount in their cart and held up three fingers. "We need three times their amount. Got it?"

Only as she finished speaking did she look up at Jorrod, stunned to see his sharp eyes curving slightly, his gaze reflecting her upturned face like a tranquil lake. He seemed to be smiling.

Sienna's heart inexplicably skipped a couple of beats.

Quickly, as if to cover it up, she frowned. "What are you smiling at?"

Jorrod gently shook his head.

In the end, Sienna couldn't pry the reason out of him.

Seeing him being obedient, she didn't press the issue. She reminded him to call her if anything happened, then found a quiet spot outside the supermarket, sitting on a bench to return the call.

"Sienna, I looked over the drafts you sent me last night. They're excellent. Honestly, they blew me away even more than the previous ones."

"There are just a few minor details I want tweaked. I'll email them to you. You can fix them whenever you have free time—it's just some finishing touches, it won't take up too much of your time."

Sienna felt guilty for bailing on the job halfway through, so she was glad the outcome satisfied her.

For the minor adjustments Leona requested, she readily agreed without hesitation.

"Of course, Leona. I'm out right now, but I'll make the changes when I get back tonight and send them over."

Leona hummed in acknowledgment, but didn't rush to hang up.

After a few seconds of silence, Leona suddenly spoke, "Sienna, I truly appreciate your talent. Are you absolutely sure you won't consider returning to Syllable Studio?"

Sienna pressed her lips together.

After a moment of hesitation, she finally replied, "No, Leona. Quitting was definitely a spur-of-the-moment decision, but after thinking about it, I really just want to step away from design for a while. I need a mental and physical break. Plus... I've already found a new job."

"I see..." Leona sighed regretfully. "Well, since you've left, there's no need to keep calling me Director Langdon. It sounds so formal. Just call me Leona from now on."

"Also, if you run into any difficulties in work or life, you can always reach out. I like to think I have some solid connections in the industry. If there's anything I can help with, I'll do my best."

Sienna listened, and at the end, thanked her with deep gratitude. "Okay, thank you, Leona."

After hanging up, she sat quietly on the bench for a while.
