His breath was hot, too.
It slowly ghosted over her skin, mingling with her own erratic breathing.
The lighting was perfect, the temperature was perfect—it was a dangerously intoxicating atmosphere.
His lips looked dangerously inviting, too.
Her heart was hammering against her ribs.
"Sienna... I want to..."
His voice was hoarse and incredibly deep. He didn't finish the sentence, but as his smoldering gaze slid down the bridge of her nose and landed on her slightly parted lips, the raw, undeniable desire in his eyes told her exactly what he wanted.
He gently clasped her hand.
Sienna felt as though her mind had been entirely wiped clean. With her eyes reflecting nothing but the man in front of her, she stayed completely silent. She just kept looking at him, her almond eyes swirling like a rippling lake, trapping his reflection so deep inside that anyone who looked would drown in it.
That silence became her consent, transforming into the most seductive invitation of all.
Jorrod's Adam's apple bobbed heavily. Cupping her jaw, with a heart racing as fast as her own, he finally lowered his head.
And just like that.
He kissed her.
For the first time, Sienna didn't push him away. She didn't reject him. Surrendering to the absolute primal instinct of her body, she simply closed her eyes and tilted her head up, adjusting to his angle. Her fists tangled in the soft fabric of the fresh sweater he had changed into, clinging to him as the material bunched in her palms.
After a day of exhausting work, her brain had already been fuzzy, but now it was melting into pure liquid.
At first, they just stood pressed together, two young bodies exploring each other with hesitant, aching tenderness. But as the man's breathing turned increasingly ragged, he pinned her by the wrists against the beige wall of the bathroom, kissing her until she was absolutely breathless and entirely wrecked.
With his other hand, Jorrod kept a firm grip on hers, deliberately brushing it against the pendant resting against his throat.
It was as if he was telling her.
*It belongs to him now.*
*And right now, he belongs to her.*
To her utter shock, he was an incredible kisser.
He started with a testing, reverent gentleness, but the moment he realized she wasn't going to push him away, he coaxed her lips apart, unleashing a ravenous, demanding possessiveness that had been lying dormant inside him.
He devoured her mouth. The attacker had entirely shed the pathetic, sickly persona of the man who let her walk all over him. This was raw, untamed male instinct—a man holding the woman he craved, desperate to swallow her whole, demanding absolute ownership of everything he touched.
The apartment was dark. As the seconds dragged into minutes, Sienna's vision began to swim. Her head spun, her knees weakened, the oxygen in her lungs thinning out as his arms wrapped tighter and tighter around her.
Eventually, she couldn't catch her breath and turned her head away in a desperate bid for air.
But Jorrod had no intention of letting her go. Stripped of his usual obedience, he allowed her exactly two seconds of rest before he crashed his lips down on hers again, his chest heaving with heavy, ragged breaths.
His dark eyes locked onto hers, answering every question she threw at him with unflinching honesty. "We are boyfriend and girlfriend. I don't want you to have a single bad memory of anything we do together. I wanted my first try to be textbook perfect..."
Sienna had to admit it.
She had lost her mind a little bit just now.
Facing a face that could bring nations to their knees, living with him day in and day out, bathed in his obsessive care—seeing nothing but her own reflection in his pitch-black eyes and hearing him say things that yanked directly on her heartstrings—it was impossible not to be moved.
Even ignoring the emotional aspect, it was a perfectly normal physical reaction between two consenting adults caught in an intensely charged atmosphere.
But the phrase 'boyfriend and girlfriend' shattered the illusion entirely.
It hit Sienna like a bucket of ice water, snapping her violently back to reality.
What the hell was she doing?!
She was kissing her client. Kissing the man who was now her boss, the man who had sued her, the man who might very well sue her again in the future??
Never mind the fact that she hadn't fought back for god knows how long.
Halfway through, she had shamefully kissed him back. She had even made sounds she never in her wildest dreams thought she was capable of making.
A violent cocktail of emotions assaulted her all at once, leaving her paralyzed with humiliation.
