I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 8

Sienna went totally silent.

Staring at the incredibly weak man in front of her—who probably didn't even have the strength to take off his own pants—her expression was utterly complicated.

Dying for romance? Going out with a bang?

What exactly was a man's obsession with *that* sort of thing?

The more she thought about it, the more exasperated she became. "Buddy, look at the state of you. Are you really still thinking about sleeping around? Besides, you're not my type. You might as well just go ahead and sue me."

"Tell you what, I'll find a flyer for you, and you can pay someone who's actually into you?"

"But let's get one thing straight, this is illegal. If you get unlucky and the cops bust you, it definitely wasn't me who called them."

Jorrod took a deep breath, suppressing the overwhelming urge to curse at her. He forced his eyes open, glaring at her, and managed to grit out a single word: "Shelter..."

Oh.

Stay the night for shelter.

Why didn't he just say so?

Sienna didn't consider herself a saint. Honestly, she had zero desire to help this venomous snake of a man.

But right now, he was crushing her wrist so hard she thought the bones might snap. It was clear that if she didn't help him, he would gladly keep her anchored out here all night like a prisoner.

Ignoring his terrifyingly bloody face, if this man actually died on her doorstep, it would cause a massive panic in the neighborhood. There were plenty of elderly people and kids living here; it would traumatize them.

She would just consider it doing a good deed for her own karma.

Using her free hand, Sienna pulled out her phone and tapped the screen a few times. "Fine, I'll call you an ambulance first. You're going to owe me one, and we still need to talk about my designs..."

Before she could finish, a large hand suddenly clamped over her screen, plunging it into darkness.

Sienna looked up in shock.

"No... no hospital..." Jorrod's brow furrowed tightly, his face twisting with resistance, as if going to the hospital was somehow worse than the car crash itself.

Sienna's expression mirrored his frustration. This man was going to be the death of her.

"Look, considering the situation, can we drop the CEO ego for one second, Mr. Vaughn? I know you're looking pretty pathetic right now and lacking your usual intimidating aura. Tell you what, I'll go buy you a mask, deal?"

Even someone as traditionally calm and collected as Jorrod Vaughn wanted to scream right now.
