Zoe handed Ian to the nanny, instructing her to take the child inside. She leaned back leisurely against the garden bench, taking a slow sip of her tea. The piercing look she leveled at Sienna was so commanding it made the other woman feel instantly small and humiliated.
In that moment, Sienna realized she was standing before Zoe like a pathetic clown waiting to be exposed, entirely stripped of her dignity.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Zoe said with a frosty smile. Sienna had always maintained a sickeningly arrogant facade, and Zoe rarely bothered to engage with her. But seeing the woman's composure shatter into frantic desperation was a rare treat. Zoe idly tapped her phone screen.
The second Sienna tried anything violent, Zoe would have security toss her out onto the curb.
"Don't play dumb with me! Fix those robots right now! Do you have any idea how many pre-orders we've taken? If this scandal goes nuclear, Easton will hemorrhage billions of dollars every single day! Do you understand—" Sienna shrieked hysterically, teetering on the edge of utter madness.
Lawsuits against her and the company were flooding in like a blizzard. She had been banking on Hayden to intervene, but now the situation was entirely out of control and he was MIA.
Zoe looked at Sienna in dark amusement. "What does Easton's downfall have to do with me? Why should I help? Besides, Ms. Winters, I haven't even laid eyes on your robots since they launched. Why are you dragging me into this?"
Sienna ignored Zoe's taunts. She knew exactly how fraudulent her achievements were. Her astronomical pre-orders and elite status in the global business world were all built on stolen glory. Without Zoe's robotic blueprints, Easton never would have gone public. Now that the time bomb had detonated, their stock was crashing just as violently as it had skyrocketed.
Less than ten minutes after the news broke, Easton's shares had hit the daily limit down. If Zoe didn't fix the code immediately, Sienna—as the legal representative of the company—would face catastrophic liabilities.
Her myth of raking in billions a day had lasted less than a month. Not only was she about to fall from grace, but she also had several illegal corporate-to-personal money transfers totaling billions of dollars. If the authorities launched an investigation, she was dead to rights. That was why she had rushed here in such a blind panic.
