I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 696

"Are you done? If that's all, I'm leaving."

Hayden walked out with his son, leaving Nita clutching her chest in suffocating frustration.

"So you're just going to ignore Charles's situation? How long is he planning to stay out there before coming home?"

Nita was practically frantic with anger.

Hayden kept everything from her, and now even Charlesโ€”her youngest son who used to listen to her every wordโ€”was doing the same.

Faking his death for six years without so much as a word of explanation.

He hadn't contacted his own mother in six entire years.

What did she do to deserve this?

Hayden glanced down at little Ian, who was full and blinking sleepily. He securely cradled the baby's weight with one hand, grabbed his jacket from the sofa with the other, and walked straight out of the grand Thorne manor.

The heavy, ornate doors swung shut, completely sealing away Nita's fury, demands, and bitter disappointment.

The black Maybach glided smoothly out of the Thorne estate. Inside the cabin, the only sound was the quiet hum of the climate control. Little Ian was nestled snugly against Hayden's chest, his tiny body soft and warm, occasionally smacking his lips in his sleep. In the driver's seat, Colin stared through the rearview mirror as if he'd seen a ghost. His boss was actually smiling.

Hayden gazed down at his son's peaceful face. He lifted a hand, gently brushing his thumb across the baby's fine hair with profound care.

The car sped through the city, heading straight for the Kendall Estate.

The Kendall Estate had been rebuilt. While it wasn't an exact replica of the original, it was brilliantly lit and completely revitalized, much to Arthur's satisfaction.

Zoe had already called to check in.

She had gone back to the Kendalls.

Arthur was hosting a small family dinner. It wasn't overly extravagant, but several extended family members and younger relatives were gathered, creating a lively but pleasant atmosphere.

The courtyard was lush with greenery, a cool breeze drifting through the corridors. The carved stone tables were set with delicate pastries and herbal tea, the outdoor lighting casting a warm glow over the evening.

Zoe sat near the window, her posture graceful and her expression serene.
