Chapter 19 About Last Night
Lady Flourish’s POV
:-
For the first time in six years, I woke up without checking my phone for a message from Harold.
The realization hit me halfway through my morning coffee.
There wasn’t even a shred of anxiety or disappointment.
No wondering whether he would remember an important date or cancel plans at the last minute because of some emergency involving Phina.
Just silence.
And oddly enough, the silence felt peaceful.

The morning sun spilled through the floor–to–ceiling windows of my cliffside residence, painting golden streaks across the ocean below. I stood there for a moment with my coffee mug in hand, watching the waves crash against the rocks.
My life wasn’t fixed. In fact, it was far from it.
My father was probably furious, and Harold was undoubtedly looking for me.
The Luna Rite was supposed to happen today, according to him.
Yet for some reason, I felt lighter than I had in months, maybe because I had finally made a decision.
By the time Walter drove me to F–Tech Headquarters, I was already buried in emails. The moment I stepped into the building, Cheryl practically sprinted toward me.
“Lady Flourish.”
I looked up from my telecom. “What happened?”
She lowered her voice.
“The Virel Group delegation is waiting in Conference Room Three.”
I paused, the slowly lowered my telecom. “Why?”
“They’re here to discuss renewal contracts.”

My expression flattened immediately. Of course they were. The Virel Group had been one of our oldest business partners.
Stonehedge construction.
Stonehedge logistics.
Stonehedge infrastructure.
Over the years, my company had signed dozens of contracts with Harold’s family corporation. At the time, it had seemed practical.
Now? Not so much.
I handed Cheryl my coffee, motioning for her to give me a refill. “Cancel all of them.”
She blinked.
“…All of them?”
I shot her a glance. “Every single one.”
“Lady Flourish, that’s over three hundred million in annual agreements.”
I smiled. “Then they’ll survive losing it. Won’t they?.”
Her eyes widened. “Are you certain?”
I started walking toward the executive elevator. “Very.”
Inside the elevator, Beta Rhys nearly choked when Cheryl informed him. “Lady Flourish, perhaps we should review the financial implications first.”
“I already have.”
He looked horrified. “Last night?”
“I couldn’t sleep, so I got busy.” This was technically true. I had spent half the night reviewing every agreement my company had with Harold’s family.
The numbers were impressive, but the dependency was insulting. And now that I was no longer planning to become Stonehedge’s Luna, there was absolutely no reason to maintain them.
Rhys rubbed his temples. “You realize Alpha Harold is going to lose his mind.”
“I can’t remember where I stated that I cared..”

inheritance.’
I stared at the screen, then laughed again a little louder.
A knock sounded at my office door. “Come in.”
Rhys stepped inside. “Lady Flourish, Alpha Damian is here.”
I nearly dropped my telecom. “What?”
“He requested a meeting.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Did he schedule one?”
“No.”
“Then tell him-”
The office door opened, and in walked Damian in his own aura and grace, he owned the building or rules simply didn’t apply to him.
Rhys looked offended, I looked annoyed, but Damian? The Green Devil looked amused.
“Good afternoon, Little Flower.”
I pointed at him. “See? This. This is exactly what I’m talking about.”
His brows lifted. “What?”
“You just walk into people’s offices.”
“Your secretary let me in.”
“Cheryl!” I yelled.
Damian chuckled, and the sound did something strange to my stomach. I hated it.
“Relax.”
“I’m perfectly relaxed,”
“You look ready to throw a chair at me.”
“I can be relaxed and violent.”
His grin widened.

Rhys wisely excused himself before becoming collateral damage. The moment the door closed, Damian looked at me more carefully.
“You haven’t eaten.”
I froze. “What?”
“You haven’t eaten.”
I frowned.
“How would you know that?”
His gaze drifted toward the untouched coffee sitting on my desk, then toward the stack of paperwork, then back to me.
“Because I remember what happened last time.”
I immediately remembered my stomach growling during our previous meeting. Heat flooded my face. “No it didn’t.”
