I barely had time to adjust my dress after stepping into Midnight Society before the attention of the entire hall settled on me, but I kept my face calm and continued walking beside Damian.

His hand rested against my waist, and the steady pressure of his Alpha presence kept my wolf from reacting to the dozens of unfamiliar scents surrounding us.

The venue had been decorated for Harold Virel and Phina’s wedding, with Stonehedge warriors positioned around the entrances and influential Alphas seated throughout the hall.

I recognized several people from F-Tech, including a few executives who had watched my suspension unfold with far too much interest.

I felt Damian’s fingers tighten slightly around my waist when he noticed where I was looking. He leaned closer, his voice low enough for only me to hear.

“Do you want to leave?”

I shook my head and forced my attention back to the decorated stage. “No, I’m staying.”

His eyes stayed on my face for another moment before he nodded. “Then stay beside me.”

The words should have sounded possessive, but they didn’t bother me anymore. My wolf responded to the quiet authority in his voice, and I felt the familiar warmth of his

presence settle over my senses.

I glanced at him. “You seem to be enjoying this.”

“Enjoying what?”

“Acting like my personal guard.”

A faint smile touched his lips. “I’m your husband, not your guard.”

My heart gave an uncomfortable little beat at the word husband. Our marriage had started because of circumstances neither of us had expected, but lately, every time Damian used that word, it felt less like an arrangement and more like something I was slowly learning to accept.

Before I could answer, movement near the entrance caught my attention. The Stonehedge wedding convoy had arrived. Several black vehicles stopped outside, followed by more than a dozen warriors who immediately formed a protective line around the entrance. Harold finally stepped out of the first vehicle, and even from where I stood, I could see the exhaustion in his face.

He looked nothing like a groom who had been eagerly waiting for his wedding day.

Phina appeared shortly after him. Her white dress was elegant, and her smile was perfectly arranged, but her wolf was restless beneath her calm exterior.

I could sense it because my own wolf had grown unusually alert the moment she entered the hall.

Damian noticed the change in me at once. “What is it?”

I lowered my voice. “Something feels wrong with Harold.”

His gaze moved toward the groom, and I watched Harold walk toward Phina, his expression distant even as their eyes met.

She reached for his hand, and he allowed her to take it, but there was a hesitation in his movements that made my wolf uneasy.

Then Harold looked across the hall, and his eyes found mine. For a few seconds, neither of us moved. I felt Damian’s body stiffen beside me, the Alpha pressure coming off him sharpening at once. Harold’s gaze shifted to Damian’s hand around my waist, and something unreadable crossed his face before he finally looked away.

Phina noticed too, and her smile tightened. I didn’t need to hear her thoughts to understand what she had just seen.

The ceremony began soon after, and I took my seat beside Damian near the front.

Elder Marwin and Elder Hailey presided over it, and their presence made the occasion far more than a simple wedding, since two senior Stonehedge elders meant every vow carried the full authority of the pack.

When Harold was asked whether he accepted Phina as his wife, he hesitated. It lasted only a second, but I saw it. Then he answered.

“I accept.”

Phina’s shoulders relaxed visibly. The ceremony continued, and when the vows were completed, the hall erupted in applause. Music filled the room as guests stood and began moving toward the reception area.

Damian rose and offered me his hand. “Come with me.”

I placed my hand in his. “Where?”

“Somewhere quieter.”

We had barely taken a few steps when a Stonehedge warrior approached us and bowed deeply. “Alpha Damian, I need to speak with you.”

Damian’s expression changed immediately. “What happened?”

The warrior glanced at me before lowering his voice. “Beta Rhys called from F-Tech.”

My stomach tightened. “What about him?”

He hesitated. “Someone accessed the company’s internal security system.”

My wolf went alert at once. I looked at Damian. “Who?”

“We don’t know yet,” the warrior said.

Damian’s eyes hardened. “Keep this information away from the guests.”

The warrior bowed and left, and I remained still, my fingers tightening around Damian’s hand.

F-Tech had already been the center of too many problems, and I knew exactly how dangerous another incident could become. If someone had accessed the company’s internal system now, while I was still dealing with everything else, it could destroy whatever control I had managed to regain over my own life.
