I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58 A Very Public Mistake

Lady Flourish’s POV

By the time I arrived at the airport, night had already settled over the city.

The arrival hall was crowded with travelers, wolves and humans moving through the sliding doors with luggage rolling behind them.

Every time the doors opened, cold air swept into the building, carrying exhaust fumes, unfamiliar scents and the distant smell of rain.

I pulled my coat tighter and checked my phone.

Nothing.

No message.

No update.

Typical.

Davina had specifically demanded that I come and pick her up, yet she had apparently forgotten that normal people usually informed their drivers when their flights actually landed.

I was considering calling her when a familiar shriek tore through the noise.

“Flourish!”

Several wolves nearby turned their heads.

I barely had time to look up before my wolf recognized the scent racing toward us.

Davina.

Excitement surged through me.

The next second, she crashed into me.

I stumbled backward, catching myself before both of us went down.

“Flourish!” she cried, wrapping both arms around me. “I missed you to death.”

‘I laughed despite myself and hugged her back.

Her wolf was practically vibrating beneath her skin.

“You’ve been gone for three months, not three years.”

“Sarne thing.”

She squeezed me harder.

“Dev,” I muttered. “You’re crushing me.”

She sounded entirely serious.

“I’ve decided you’re never getting rid of me again”

“That sounds threatening.”

“It should.”

I finally pulled back.

Then I looked at her properly.

My eyes traveled down her cropped top, past her white shorts, and toward her completely bare legs.

I stared.

Then I looked toward the

I rolled my eyes and reached for her suitcase.

“A you hungry?”

“Starving.”

“Good. I drove. Let’s eat.”

Her smile widened.

Immediately, my wolf became suspicious.

Something about that expression was dangerous.

Davina slipped her arm through mine.

Skipping dinner?”

“Dev.”

No problem.”

“Davina.”

“We’re going somewhere else to eat.”

I stopped walking.

She stopped too.

“Trust me.”

I narrowed my eyes.

“That sentence has never ended well.”

She laughed.

“Today, I’m taking you somewhere you’ve never seen before.”

An hour later, I realized I should have trusted my instincts.

Absolutely nothing good had ever followed the words trust me when Davina Virel was involved.

The place was called Timescape.

The moment we stepped inside, music hit me hard enough to make my wolf pull back.

Colored lights moved across the room.

Bodies crowded the dance floor.

The scent of alcohol mixed with perfume, sweat, and enough wolf pheromones to make the air feel heavy.

I followed Davina toward a private booth.

Mwolf remained alert.

Too many unfamiliar wolves.

Too many scents.

Too much noise.

“Apparently not.”

She stared at me as though I had confessed to a serious medical condition.

“Fine.”

Her eyes moved across the group.

“How about that twenty-year-old?”

She pointed.

I followed her finger.
