Chapter 11

“What?”

Julian’s mind cleared instantly.

This cross-pack project was the key to him seizing total control of the Blood Moon territory and purging the stubborn pureblood elders within the pack. If someone else snatched it, all his efforts would go up in smoke.

Julian sat up straight, his voice filled with disbelief. “Who was it?”

“Word is… it’s the Sterling Syndicate. A Royal Lycan enterprise that just returned to the country.”

Julian’s expression darkened. “The Lycan King’s syndicate? Why would the Royals interfere with our local pack business?”

“Set up a meeting with their representative. I want to see exactly why His Majesty’s people have the nerve to cross the Blood Moon Pack.”

Also, get the pack healer in here and neutralize the effects of this drug.”

After hanging up, Julian headed straight for his study, locked the door, and stood under a freezing cold shower.

Afterward, he lay on the bed, silently waiting for Chloe to arrive.

But the drug’s effects had nearly faded, and she was still nowhere to be found.

Julian pushed the door open, his face like ice. He ran right into Beta Carter, who was hurrying toward him.

“Alpha, we still haven’t found Chloe.”

Julian’s pupils shrunk. “How is that possible? Where else could she go besides the estate? Keep looking!”

“I’ve searched the entire grounds. She’s not here.”

I’ve questioned the staff and the guards. They said they haven’t seen her for several days.”

“Useless! Then search elsewhere! Flip the entire territory upside down if you have to, but find her!”

Infuriated, Julian lashed out, shattering an expensive antique vase with a single blow.

His chest heaved with rage. His mood was in the gutter.

He stayed up all night, staring at his phone. He had called her number dozens of times, but not a single one was answered. His knuckles turned white from how hard he was gripping the device.

‘Chloe, you’re really getting more and more willful.”

Early the next morning, there was still no news of her, but Carter had managed to secure a meeting with the head of the Sterling Syndicate.

Julian, his face a mask of cold fury, climbed into his discreet Maybach.

“Go meet with the Sterling representative first,” he ordered in a deep voice. “The project is the priority. The rest of you, search the neutral zones for Chloe. If you still can’t find her by the time I get back, alert the border patrols.”

The car roared away.

Ten minutes later, Julian stood in front of a luxury private club exclusively for high-ranking wolves. He adjusted his sleeves and strode inside. Carter pushed the door open. Julian saw a man sitting on the sofa-elegant, cold, and possessing an oppressive aura that demanded absolute

submission.

It wasn’t just a representative. It was Arthur Sterling himself, the Lycan King.

When Arthur looked up, his eyes were filled with a sharp sense of disdain.

‘Alpha Vance, I’ve heard much about you.”

Julian was already irritable, but facing the Lycan King, he suppressed his dominance. Still, seeing the man’s arrogant attitude made his expression turn lethal. He got straight to the point.

“Your Majesty, I don’t know you personally. Why did your syndicate snatch my project? Or is there some history between the Royal Court and the Blood Moon Pack that I’m unaware of?”

Arthur Sterling let out a cold, dismissive snort.

“History’ I wouldn’t dream of associating with a two-faced snake like you. I took your project simply because I wanted to vent some frustration on behalf of my beloved.”

When Julian heard the words ‘my beloved,” he naturally assumed Arthur was talking about Serena Thorne After all, Arthurs rowal status and old money background made him the perfect match for a high-society pureblood like Serena.

He figured the Lycan King was jealous because he saw Julian and Serena looking so ‘devoted’ in the pack media.

Julian raised an eyebrow and smirked, relaxing slightly.

“I’ll be honest with you-that female is just a partner for the cameras. I’m only with Serena for pack politics; there’s no real bond there. Since Your Majesty likes her so much, you can have her.”

“I was never going to keep her as my Luna in the end, anyway.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Arthur let out a sharp, mocking laugh.

“You really are… utterly shameless!”

In a flash, a fist fueled by pure rage slammed into Julian’s face.

Caught off guard, Julian took the crushing blow full-on. The sheer physical force of a Lycan sent him stumbling back several steps before hitting the floor.

“What are you doing? I already told you, I’m not interested in the female you want. If you want her, she’s yours!”

“You ungrateful, shameless bastard.”

Another heavy punch landed. Blood sprayed from Julian’s nose, and his lip split open.

Now Julian was reaching his breaking point. Royal or not, no Alpha could tolerate being beaten like this. He lunged forward to strike back.

The two men in expensive suits began to brawl on the floor like street thugs.
