Chapter 109
‘Seren, Ayla just went to the restroom too, didn’t you run into each other?”
Nyx, sitting beside me, asked.
“No.”
I smiled and responded.
Picking up my fork, I lowered my head and ate the food without showing my emotions in front of my colleagues.
“It’s been so long and Ayla hasn’t come back yet. I hope nothing has happened.”
Nyx was worried.
“What are you talking about? This is Mr. Silvermane’s place, how could Ayla, his future wife, possibly get into any trouble”
In the midst of the conversation, the private room door was pushed open from the outside again.
I looked up with everyone.
At the door, not only Ayla appeared, but also Lucian.
Ayla held onto Lucian’s arm, and their intimacy was evident as they never had any rifts.
Lucian was willing to come, which actually proved his attitude.
Ayla’s lips curled into a smile as she glanced at me with a meaningful look, a flicker of satisfaction passing through her eyes.
The slightly raised chin was saying, “Seren, you deceive me, what does it matter if Lucian knows the truth? Do you think Lucian will be angry with me? He loves me so naturally he trusts me.”
“Mr. Silvermane.”
The people in the private room, upon seeing the noble Lucian, immediately stood up.
Looking at him nervously and with a tense expression on their faces, they respectfully greeted him.
Only I sat motionless in the chair.
I lowered my gaze, concealing the coldness and sarcasm in my eyes.
Drinking the soup slowly and deliberately.
Lucian’s answer was little more than a growl, low and rough-the kind of sound that made my wolf prick its ears in wary interest. His eyes raked over the crowd like a blade over skin until they locked onto me.
Then everything stilled.
His gaze wasn’t just compelling-it was a command. The air between us thickened, heavy with the scent of frost and embers.
I could sense it, but I ignored it and continued eating my dinner.
Ayla intimately linked her arm with Lucian’s, smiling sweetly as she said to everyone, Sorry, guys I gotta leave. Lucian came to pick me up earlier than I have expected.”
‘I hope you can keep enjoying your food. Lucian has talked to the manager in advance that no matter what you order, it will be his treat. Have a good night.”
Lucian did not speak.
It implied he agreed with what Ayla said.
Ayla felt so proud.
The crowd looked at Ayla with increasingly envy.
“Thank you, Mr. Silvermane.” One among the crowd said.
Lucian nodded slightly again and didn’t say much.
