Chapter 151
He sat in the car, his gaze falling on David, his brow furrowed.
He dared to get into anyone’s car. His wolf snarled, a low rumble in my chest.
“Lucian, what happened?” Ayla followed his gaze and looked at David, her lips barely curling into a smile.
She pretended not to notice and asked innocently.
Lucian didn’t respond, took out his phone, and tapped with his long fingers.
My own phone buzzed just as I settled into the car.
A message. From Lucian.
The notification glared on the screen:”Get out.”
Two words.
No punctuation.
Typical male dominance.
A snort escaped me; my wolf found it amusing.
While passionately kissing Ayla, he was still wondering about my interest in my another mate?
I ignored it. When David got in, I locked the screen and casually put my phone into my bag. Lucian’s gaze remained fixed on the passenger
door.
But I didn’t wait for the car door to be opened. I got out, and the car drove away.
My wolf felt a surge of defiance. I could have stayed, forced him to acknowledge me, but I chose not to.
Lucian’s face darkened, releasing a chill like an iceberg, and the temperature inside the car dropped several degrees instantly.
‘Don’t get off the car, he’d silently commanded.
I endured his silent fury. Ayla watched as the car drove away, a slight smile playing on her lips. My wolf bristled at her smug expression.
“Mr. Blackthorne, I’m sorry, to be honest, I am not looking for a mate right now. I just ended the relationship with my ex. I apologize for wasting your time. Maybe you can unlock the car and I will leave. Apologies again,” I looked at David with an apologetic expression.
“What a coincidence, I also have a task assigned by my family. Let’s have a meal together, as a way to show respect to our elders” David chuckled lightly.
“Okay.” He said so, and I relaxed a lot and nodded in agreement.
My wolf was still wary, but the offer was convenient.
David drove me all the way to the restaurant. The two of us walked side by side, maintaining a normal social distance, and entered the pre-booked private room.
He was a gentleman, pulling out a chair for me.
