Clam 10 Com the Check in
Chapter 152
He looked at me with gentle eyes. I immediately picked up my drink and lightly tapped David, “You too.”
Out of politeness, I took a sip.
As he watched me drink, David’s smile deepened.
We were happily dining together, or so it seemed.
Halfway through the meal, a wave of dizziness washed over me.
I hadn’t drunk alcohol, yet my head swam. I shook my head violently, trying to clear it. My body swayed, and my knife and fork slipped from my grasp, clattering onto the plate.
David immediately stood, walking to my side and leaning over the table.”Seren, are you okay?” As he looked at me, his expression shifted.
He was too close, invading my personal space. My wolf snarled, warning me. My brain reeled; my legs felt weak.
I reached out for the edge of the table for support. I was dizzy, unable to stand steadily. Something was wrong with that drink.
My heart pounded; I was drugged!
“Are you feeling uncomfortable? Shall I take you home?”
He approached again, wrapping his arms around my waist.
The mask of politeness dropped, revealing the wickedness in his eyes.
He gazed at me unabashedly.
From the moment he received the photo from Selene, his wolfish thoughts seemed to be echoing in his mind. This face, this figure…
“Get lost!” My eyes burned.
I had no time to ponder Calista’s choice; escape was my only priority.
If I fell into his hands, the consequences would be unimaginable. My wolf urged me to fight back. My hand closed around the knife on the table, and without a second thought, I slashed it across his arm.
He yelped, releasing me.
I stumbled back, my vision blurry, but I saw the door. I bit my lip hard, the pain momentarily clearing my head.
