I Regret Being Alpha’s Secret Mate novel Chapter 170

Chapter 153

“You shouted until your throat was hoarse, but no one would hear.”

He’d specifically chosen this restaurant for its privacy; the soundproofing in the private rooms was excellent. David lowered his gaze to the wound on his arm, a touch of madness in his eyes.

He never thought I, seemingly weak and fragile, would be so wild.

He liked the wild. Off-road, more exciting.

My wolf snarled at his predatory gaze; I was trapped.

He stepped forward confidently.

A grown man and a woman on the verge of losing control. I lunged for the compartment door, but before I could open it, his hand clamped down on my hair, yanking me back.

The door, slightly ajar, swung shut.

“Go away!” I brandished the knife again, but he was ready.

His large hand seized my wrist, twisting it, and the knife clattered to the floor.

I was pulled into his arms, held fast.

“Let me go!” I struggled fiercely, but my strength was waning.

The more I fought, the more excited he became.

The strength disparity was overwhelming.

I felt weak, a fire burning within me, growing stronger.

Despite my resistance, my body was betraying me, the drug’s effect taking hold.

My wolf screamed in protest, fighting the encroaching numbness. I was tormented.

He dragged me to the side, towards an elevator leading directly to the hotel rooms above.

I was thrown onto a bed.

He produced a pill from his pocket, dropping it into a nearby glass of red wine and drinking it down.

Seizing the opportunity, I bit down hard on my lip again, the pain a desperate attempt to fight the drug’s hold. Before it completely consumed me, I had to escape. I scrambled off the bed, flung open the door and fled.

I burst into a long corridor, and there he was, Lucian.

Tall and imposing, he watched me from a few steps away.

The drug’s effects still clouded my mind; escape was paramount.

Seeing him felt like salvation.

I heard footsteps behind me-David. I couldn’t let him catch me.

Eyes burning, I stumbled toward Lucian, grabbing his arm. Instinctively, I pleaded, “Lucian…”

He coldly lowered his gaze, taking in my flushed cheeks and disheveled appearance. A storm brewed in his eyes as he gripped my waist, pressing me against the wall.

His hand cupped my chin, his voice mocking, “Was it fun to leave me and have another mate? Will you dare to do so again in the future?”

His words, like a cold shock, pierced through the drug-induced haze.

I understood. He’d been following me since the company entrance.

He’d let David drug me, letting the situation unfold to teach me a lesson.

My face drained of color. I stared at him in disbelief.
