Chapter 191
“No” The sight before me sent a shockwave through me, my eyes blazing crimson.
A heart-wrenching scream tore from my throat, a raw, desperate sound.
My wolf howled in agony within.
“Aurora…
I mumbled, stumbling out of bed, a whirlwind of frantic energy. I launched myself towards the window, my body already half-out before! even registered the danger.
My only thought was to save her, to reach Aurora.
It was too late.
I watched, helpless, as the necklace arced through the night, plunging into the dark water below. My wolf clawed at the cage of my human form, desperate to break free and dive after her.
“Seren, this was the fifth floor! Are you trying to kill yourself?”
Lucian’s voice cut through my despair, his shock evident. His hand shot out, catching me just as I was about to follow the necklace into the abyss.
My wolf snarled, its fury ignited by his interference.
He pulled me back, his grip tight around my waist.
His gaze was filled with a mixture of concern and anger. He couldn’t understand the depth of my connection to Aurora, the sheer panic that threatened to consume me.
He didn’t understand the unbearable ache of losing her.
My wolf thrashed, wild and untamed.
He was about to speak, but before he could, I pushed him away, a surge of raw, untamed fury propelling me.
My eyes burned crimson as my wolf momentarily took control.
I shoved him hard, sending him reeling back.
Lucian landed heavily against the windowsill.
Aurora was important to me, a connection that transcended anything. I didn’t care about him, didn’t see him. My only thought was Aurora.
I turned and fled, leaving him behind.
“Seren!”
I heard him call out, but I didn’t stop.
The elevator doors hissed shut before him.
My wolf urged me on, its primal instincts screaming for me to reach Aurora.
I could hear Lucian’s footsteps behind me, and my wolf snarled, a vicious warning.
