Chapter 241
I held Calista’s hand and pressed it against my face, forcing a smile.
“Calista, you need to wake up quickly. I really want to talk to you, you want that too, right?”
I was talking to Calista when the ward door swung open.
Hearing the noise, I thought it was Ayla or a nurse. I turned and saw Lucian.
He had come to visit Calista, but he didn’t expected to see me there. His wolf likely sensed my presence, a flicker of possessiveness in his gaze/
He walked over, his movements deliberate.
When he was getting closer, I stood up and said to Calista, “It’s getting late, I gotta go. But I’ll come and see you tomorrow. I promise.”
Calista, who was in a coma, didn’t respond.
I carefully placed her hand back under the blanket and turned to leave.
Lucian’s face darkened as he knew I was avoiding him.
As we passed, he grabbed my wrist, his voice low and commanding. “I’ll take you home. I have something to tell you.” My wolf bristled at his touch, a surge of defiance coursing through me. This wasn’t about Calista; this was about him.
Calista was still in the Pack’s infirmary, and I had no desire to argue with Lucian.
I coldly pulled my hand away.”No need.”
And I left immediately.
Lucian came here to see Calista. As he watched me leave, his brows furrowed.
My wolf could sense his wolf was frustrated.
The doctor came in, and Lucian asked her about Calista’s condition.
I sat where I had been, stayed with Calista for a while, and then left.
When he arrived at the gate of the infirmary, I had already left.
Lucian opened his car door and got in, then drove directly to Ravenswood Apartments.
He tried to catch up with me with the rapidest speed.
I arrived home. When I was about to close the door, Lucian stopped me with his leg stretching through the door gap.
My face darkened. Ignoring the pain in my leg, I forcefully tried to close the door again.
Lucian held the door firmly, trying to get in. His wolf reveled in its power.
His strength overpowered mine and I had to take a few steps back.
Lucian took the opportunity and walked in.
