I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 290

She unlocked the door and stepped inside.

Noah was sprawled on the couch, glued to a video game.

"Did you cook?"

"A real man stays out of the kitchen. Why would I be cooking?"

His eyes never left the screen.

"Then where is that smell coming from?"

"Probably the upstairs neighbors." Noah's fingers paused on the controller for a split second. "They know how to live. Why do you care?"

Sienna didn't press him. She grabbed her clothes and headed straight for the bathroom.

The absolute second she turned the shower on, Noah vaulted over the back of the couch, scrambled to the front door, and sprinted barefoot across the hall. He banged three times on the opposite door.

It swung open.

Finn stood there wearing an apron, a wooden spatula gripped in his hand.

Behind him, a heavy Dutch oven was bubbling aggressively on the stove.

"Last dish. Give me five minutes," he said.

Noah craned his neck, peering into the apartment. Three perfectly plated dishes and a rich soup were already sitting on the kitchen island. All of Sienna's absolute favorites.

Finn carefully scooped the food into pristine plastic takeout containers, his movements precise and quiet.

He snapped the lids shut and meticulously stacked them into a brown paper delivery bag.

"Finn, I'll tell her I ordered takeout."

"Good."

Noah grabbed the bag and bolted back across the hall.

He had barely stepped foot inside his own apartment when the water shut off in the bathroom.

Panic exploded in Noah's brain.

He violently slammed the front door shut, dumped the containers onto the dining table, and spun around to lock the deadbolt.

He was halfway through turning the lock when the bathroom door creaked open.

Sienna walked out, toweling off her wet hair, staring dead at him.

"Why are you standing glued to the door?"

"N-nothing. I just grabbed the takeout I ordered." He practically plastered his entire spine against the wood.

Sienna gave him a suspicious look but dropped it, walking over to pull out a dining chair.

She popped the lids off the containers. Four distinct dishes. Every single one was something she desperately craved.

She looked up at Noah.

"Points for being thoughtful."
