The one speaking was Jade Vinson; Sienna recognized her instantly.
They had been in the same class in college, and Jade's grades were always just one spot behind hers. Every time the scholarship list was posted, Jade missed it by exactly one ranking.
Even back then, Jade used to whisper behind her back, spreading rumors like, 'Sienna skips all her classes just to run over to the aviation academy.'
They hadn't seen each other since graduation, but Jade hadn't changed a bit—her chin still tilted up, eagerly waiting to watch someone make a fool of themselves.
Someone nearby chuckled along. A few girls leaned in to whisper to each other, their eyes darting over and away, like they were waiting for a show to start.
Standing in the center of the crowd, Sienna stared at Jade's face. Old memories resurfaced, but she had zero desire to entertain any of them.
She spoke slowly.
"Jade, you couldn't beat me at anything in college, and now you have to rely on petty insults to feel superior. Doesn't that get exhausting?"
Jade's smile faltered for a second before stretching back into a smirk.
"I couldn't beat you? Sienna, you're delusional. I heard that when Finn dumped you back then, you threw a fit and tried to kill yourself. You barely survived the ER." She raised her voice, clearly wanting the entire crowd to hear. "Your little billionaire dream shattered, so you threatened him with your life, and your pathetic little stunt almost killed you. Truly tragic."
Someone murmured softly in the background.
"Slitting her wrists? No way, Sienna wouldn't go that far..."
Jade instantly fired back.
"If you don't believe me, look at her wrist. The scar is probably still there."
Suddenly, someone reached out to grab Sienna's arm.
Sienna violently yanked her hand back, taking a step away.
"What the hell are you doing? Back off."
Jade let out a laugh, acting as if she had just caught her red-handed.
"Look, she's panicking. She's lashing out because I hit a nerve."
She stepped closer, her voice growing even louder.
"What? You have the guts to do something that shameless, but you can't handle people talking about it? It's exactly because of classless women like you that the medical field is so corrupt and obsessed with privilege!"
The crowd fell silent for a moment. Some people muttered in agreement, while others looked down at their phones. Several pairs of eyes locked onto Sienna, assuming her silence meant a guilty confession.
Right at that moment, someone suddenly shouted.
"Finn?!"
