I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 387

Clara sat rigidly in a chair at the Health Commission's grievance office, a hand-written whistleblower report smoothed out on the desk in front of her.

Taking a deep breath, she slid the envelope forward.

"I am submitting a formal, on-the-record complaint against Sienna Sterling, a candidate for the Medical Supervision Division. Her application contains fraudulent information, highly suspicious work history, and gross ethical violations. Her—"

Mid-sentence, her phone lit up.

It was her younger brother, Jasper.

Clara was famously devoted to fulfilling her brother's every whim; whatever Jasper demanded, Jasper got.

"Excuse me for a moment. I need to take this."

"What's wrong, Jasper?"

"Clara, who the hell did you piss off? Everything was going perfectly at work, and suddenly management pulled me into a meeting to fire me!"

"What? That's impossible!"

"I asked them why, and my boss literally said, 'Go ask your sister.' So I'm asking you. What the hell did you do?"

A cold sweat broke out across Clara's forehead.

At that exact second, a text notification chimed on her phone:

[Grab your report and meet me at the front entrance.]

"Jasper, don't panic. I will fix this."

Clara ended the call.

The grievance officer stepped forward.

"Ma'am, are you ready to submit this documentation?"

"No, no, never mind. Sorry for the trouble," Clara stammered, waving her hands frantically.

She stood up and practically sprinted toward the door, shoving it open. The glaring afternoon sun blinded her for a moment.

Squinting against the light, she spotted a man standing at the bottom of the steps.

He was of average height, wearing a dark windbreaker.

Clara stopped three paces away from him, her knuckles white as she crushed the envelope in her fist.

"Who are you?"
