Sienna desperately wanted to crack Isaac’s skull open and ask him: *Are you deliberately trying to ruin your marriage?*
Sienna knew Lily entirely too well.
It wasn't that Lily didn't want Isaac to stand up for her.
It was that Isaac had completely bypassed her agency to play the hero for Sienna.
It made Lily feel like Isaac didn't care about her feelings at all.
Especially when she was already feeling so incredibly insecure.
Completely oblivious to the tension, Isaac added,
“Right, Lily?”
Lily slowly raised her head, forcing a cold, hollow smile.
“Right. Absolutely right.”
Without another word, she turned and walked down the hallway. Her steps were frantic, her back rigid as a board, looking like a wire that was about to snap.
Isaac blinked, utterly confused.
“What’s wrong with her?”
Sienna’s face darkened.
She turned to Isaac, her eyes piercing.
“Isaac, do you even love Lily?”
“Of course I do.” Isaac answered without missing a beat. “If I didn't love her, why would I have married her? What kind of question is that?”
“If you love her,” Sienna stared him down, “then can you please learn to pay attention to her emotions? When she is clearly furious, you shouldn't be asking *'What’s wrong with her?'* You should be feeling it for yourself. She is your wife. Can you honestly not sense that she’s hurting?”
Isaac opened his mouth, pushed his glasses up his nose, his face the picture of absolute bewilderment.
Sienna stared at his clueless expression for two full seconds, then shook her head and walked away.
Isaac stood rooted to the spot, frowning, utterly perplexed.
Finn clapped a heavy hand onto his shoulder.
