After meticulously wiping his elbow, Georgina folded the napkin in half and placed it neatly next to her plate. The entire performance was flawlessly smooth.
Sienna glanced over at the two of them, chalking it up to typical youthful antics, and thought nothing more of it.
The crisis was averted.
But Noah was reeling.
His attention remained completely fixated on Georgina.
In his peripheral vision, he watched her pull her hand back, pick up her water glass, take a sip, and look down to grab more food.
Her side profile was striking—sharp and breathtakingly gorgeous.
The moment played on a loop in his mind.
When Georgina leaned in to wipe his sleeve, her lowered eyelashes had been inches away. The ends of her hair had brushed against the back of his hand, leaving a faint trace of shampoo.
He had no idea how long he sat there entirely zoned out, until Georgina glanced up and caught him staring.
"What are you spacing out for?" she asked casually.
Noah's Adam's apple bobbed.
"N-nothing." He quickly looked down and grabbed his chopsticks, but the tips of his ears were burning bright red.
He tried to mask his panic by placing some food on Georgina's plate.
Then he realized with horror that he had just used his personal chopsticks instead of the serving ones.
He cursed himself internally.
He really lacked refinement.
He wasn't good enough for Georgina.
Wait, what? Why was he even thinking that?
Noah was completely dumbfounded by his own brain.
But once the thought took root, it spiraled entirely out of control.
Georgina didn't notice Noah's internal crisis at all.
Her attention was split evenly between Sienna and Finn.
She was on high alert, serving as the ultimate bodyguard for Finn's grand, romantic secret.
Halfway through the meal, Finn stood up and announced he was going to order another dish.
As he walked past Georgina's chair, his pace slowed for a fraction of a second.
Georgina picked up on the cue instantly. She set her chopsticks down and stood up.
"I'm going to run to the restroom."
They walked down the corridor one after the other, turning the corner and checking to ensure no one was around.
