Isaac's glass hovered mid-air for two full seconds.
"...Excuse me? Are you out of your mind?"
"Or maybe I'm just not handsome enough anymore?" Finn raised a hand to touch his own face, his tone dead serious. "Is it because I'm hitting thirty and my looks are falling off a cliff? Am I losing my charm?"
Isaac stared at him, opening his mouth and then snapping it shut again.
Before he could say anything, a gorgeous girl in a slip dress walked up to their booth holding a cocktail. She leaned over, flashing Finn a radiant smile.
"Hey handsome, can I get your number?"
Finn didn't even look up. His voice turned instantly ice-cold, like a completely different person.
"Not interested."
The girl awkwardly excused herself and walked away.
Isaac leaned back in his chair and smirked, nodding toward the retreating woman.
"What were you saying? She literally just called you handsome."
Finn wasn't comforted in the slightest. He slumped further into the sofa and let out a heavy sigh.
"Maybe Sienna just thinks I'm losing my edge. Isaac, how do I level up my charm?"
He looked at Isaac, his eyes entirely devoid of humor.
"You're married. You have more experience than I do. Teach me."
Isaac cleared his throat, set his drink down, and opened his mouth to impart his wisdom.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed aggressively on the table, the screen lighting up the dim space.
He glanced down and instantly turned to stone.
His expression shifted completely in the span of a single second.
He instinctively looked up, meeting Finn's eyes.
"...Why is your girlfriend calling me?"
Finn sat up straight, his lazy demeanor vanishing into razor-sharp alertness.
"Answer it."
Isaac stared at the name 'Sienna Sterling' flashing on the screen. He hesitated for two seconds before swiping to answer and hitting the speaker button, leaving the phone in the dead center of the table.
