But she couldn't summon an ounce of excitement.
Because this was entirely off-script.
It was all happening way too fast.
She wasn't ready.
Yet, she couldn't find it in her to say no.
She had already rejected him last night, severely wounding his pride.
Knowing Finn was hurting made her feel awful, too.
"What's wrong? Do you not want to go?" Finn gave her fingers a gentle squeeze.
Sienna looked into his eyes and caught a flicker of intense insecurity hiding in their depths.
"I'd love to," Sienna blurted out.
The second the words left her mouth, her heart started hammering against her ribs.
Finn smiled, an undeniable light igniting in his eyes.
Sienna picked up her teacup and took a slow sip.
The tea was the perfect temperature, carrying a hint of jasmine that washed from her tongue down to her stomach, slightly easing the heavy knot in her chest.

When Isaac got home, only a single floor lamp illuminated the living room.
Lily had been lying on the couch, but the moment she heard Isaac walk in, she sprang up and ran over to him.
"Slow down," Isaac said, catching her by the waist. "It's early in the pregnancy. You need to be careful."
Lily threw her arms around his neck and lifted her face.
"Kiss me."
Isaac kissed her softly.
Then, he spoke.
"Honey, I'm sorry." His voice was incredibly gentle. "What I said on the phone earlier... it was a lie."
Lily's head snapped up, her pupils shrinking in terror.
"What do you mean, a lie?"
Her voice began to shake like a painfully over-tightened string. "Are you actually cheating on me?"
Isaac froze for a second before wrapping her completely in his arms, caught between amusement and despair.
