I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 568

Georgina gave him a strange look, feeling like he had suddenly become incredibly distant.

But she didn't want to push it.

"Well, since we've cleared the air, there's no bad blood between us. You're a good guy. We can definitely still be friends."

Hearing the words "still be friends" felt like a needle plunging straight into Noah's chest.

"It's getting really late. You should head up and get some rest." Georgina held up the exquisite dessert bag and gave it a little shake. "Bye."

She turned around and headed toward the dorm entrance, her steps light and easy.

Noah stood completely alone beneath the streetlamp, staring at the spot where she had disappeared for a very long time.

The freezing night wind sliced down the collar of his hoodie, making him violently shudder.

He looked down at the tiny, crumpled piece of paper clutched tightly in his fist.

He had spent hours writing it—a sincere confession of his feelings for Georgina.

Now, it was completely worthless.

He was actually thankful. Thankful he hadn't made a total fool of himself by reading it out loud.

Right now, he simply wasn't worthy.

Noah tightened his grip, crushing the note into a hard, dense ball.

With a flick of his wrist, he tossed it into the trash can next to him.

The streetlamp stretched his shadow incredibly long, dragging behind him, utterly isolated.

Sienna finished her business trip ahead of schedule.

The project moved much faster than she anticipated. She wrapped up the inspection reports for the two pilot stations in Coastal City in just three days.

The meetings with the partners in Sterling City were also incredibly smooth.

Director Huntington, who rarely complimented anyone, praised her with three consecutive "Excellent"s over the phone.

Sienna was supposed to be gone for twenty days, but she was back in ten.

Her plane touched down in Metropolis at 4:00 PM. Sunlight poured through the massive glass ceiling of the arrivals hall, shattering into pools of warm light across the floor.

Finn was waiting for her at the exit.

He was wearing a camel-colored trench coat with the collar popped, but he looked incredibly exhausted. Dark circles shadowed his eyes, as if he had been enduring absolute torture.

But the second he saw Sienna, the light roared back into his eyes.
