Sienna drove Finn toward the hospital.
Every few minutes, she couldn't help but steal a glance at the passenger seat.
Finn sat rigidly, his spine pressed flat against the leather, hands resting perfectly on his knees. His seatbelt was fastened meticulously, his gaze locked straight ahead, and his jaw was clenched in utmost seriousness.
Sienna watched him from the corner of her eye.
He had the same familiar, breathtaking profile—the sharp brow bone and perfect nose—but seeing him sitting at attention like a cadet was almost comical.
Just as she turned her head to look at him again, Finn broke the silence with a frigid warning.
"Sienna, please focus on the road." His voice was flat and devoid of emotion, but every syllable was sharp. "While you are my girlfriend, I must remind you that you are currently the driver. My life is literally in your hands."
Sienna's lips twitched in utter disbelief, and she quickly redirected her eyes to the asphalt.
"I know. I'm not going to get you killed."
"Thank you," Finn replied without missing a beat.
Sienna's grip tightened on the steering wheel.
He genuinely couldn't detect sarcasm anymore.
She honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
The car slowly descended into the hospital's underground parking garage.
Finn unbuckled himself, pushed the door open, and stepped out, waiting at attention beside the vehicle.
By the time Sienna locked the car and walked over, he had already started marching toward the elevators. He took two steps, paused, glanced back to ensure she was following, and then resumed his march.
Sienna could tell he was trying to adapt to her.
And she was trying to adapt to him.
The specialist appointment was at the neurology department.
When Sienna pushed the door open, five or six people were already seated inside.
At the head of the room sat a gray-haired chief physician, surrounded by slightly younger doctors—all top-tier experts in their field.
Dr. Miller, a man in his fifties with a steady, unhurried demeanor, possessed the deep, patient gaze of someone accustomed to handling incredibly complex cases.
"Mr. Fletcher, please take a seat."
Finn maintained his rigid posture, keeping his back entirely straight as he locked eyes with Dr. Miller.
