I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 62

-

When Sienna walked into the emergency department that morning, a group of junior nurses were huddled behind the triage desk, their faces illuminated by the glow of a smartphone screen.

"That's her. She's The Spring Muse from the video."

"Oh my God. She always acts so strict and professional. I can't believe she'd go film something like that."

"What's wrong with it? She went viral. She's basically an influencer now."

"An influencer? An ER doctor trying to be an internet celebrity? That's just embarrassing."

"Embarrassing? She works herself to the bone here in the ER. She probably makes more in a day online than she does in a month at St. Jude's."

Though their voices were hushed, fragmented words still drifted over to Sienna.

She walked past them without breaking her stride, her expression utterly composed.

Penny hurried up from behind, shooting the gossiping nurses a lethal glare.

They scattered instantly, their rubber soles squeaking harshly against the linoleum.

Penny caught up with Sienna and shoved her phone in front of her.

"Sienna, you are working way too hard. The ER is chaotic enough without you taking on side gigs."

Sienna didn't even glance at the screen.

"What side gig?"

"You went viral! You're practically internet royalty right now." Penny's voice edged with genuine concern.

Sienna finally stopped.

She had only worked at Highland Gardens for two days. Two days.

She never expected a random live stream to blow up, but she figured internet fame was fleeting. The hype would die down soon enough.

She assumed the whole ordeal was already behind her.

"Are you kidding? Your video is literally everywhere," Penny said, swiping aggressively at her screen. "And the guy in the mask playing The Commander? Lord, he is so gorgeous. He looks a little familiar, actually. But whatever, all insanely hot guys share the same vibe."

"Video?" Sienna frowned.

Her contract hadn't mentioned anything about filming promotional videos.

Penny kept swiping for a long moment before freezing.

"Wait. That's weird. Why is everything suddenly gone?"

She swiped again, refreshing the page frantically.

An error page popped up. The content was completely wiped.

A soft, genuine smile graced Sienna's lips.

Deep down, she knew that these quiet moments of gratitude were the very things that held her together.

After Finn had abandoned her four years ago, she had hit rock bottom, convinced she was worthless and undeserving of basic respect.

But dedicating herself to medicine had given her a profound sense of purpose, injecting endless energy and meaning back into her life.

The elderly woman slowly made her way out.

The next patient strode into the exam room.

It was the man who had been leering at her earlier. He looked to be in his forties, heavily built, sporting a thick gold chain around his neck.

He slumped into the chair without a word, leaning uncomfortably close, a disturbing smirk twisting his features.

"What seems to be the problem today?" Sienna asked professionally.

The man didn't answer.

His narrow eyes roamed shamelessly over her, traveling from her face, down the crisp lapels of her white coat, lingering on her St. Jude's ID badge, before settling on her hands.

"Where are you experiencing pain?" Sienna repeated, her tone dropping several degrees.

"You're that internet star, aren't you?" the man suddenly croaked.
