I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 63

Sienna's fingers went still.

She lifted her gaze, her grip tightening around her pen.

"Sir, if you don't require medical attention, I must ask you to leave. There are patients waiting."

The man slouched back in his chair and chuckled.

"I knew it. I recognized you right away. That viral clip—the girl in the traditional gown swinging the sword. That's you, right?"

The exam room door was slightly ajar.

People passing by in the hallway caught the loud exchange and paused to peek inside.

Sienna immediately pressed the intercom button on her desk.

A nurse at the triage desk answered promptly.

"Dr. Sterling, what do you need?"

"Send security to Exam Room Three."

The man's nasty smirk faltered.

"Why the hell are you calling security? I'm here for a checkup!"

Sienna met his gaze with absolute, unyielding calm, unnerving him so deeply that he violently slammed his fist onto the desk.

"Drop the innocent act!" he snarled, his lips curling to reveal yellowed teeth. "I watched your little broadcast. Shaking that nice body of yours, wrapping yourself around some guy. Looked like you loved his hands on you. You want a real thrill? Call me daddy, and I'll take good care of you."

Sienna stood up abruptly, marched over, and yanked the exam room door wide open.

Everyone in the corridor could now plainly see her and the aggressive man sitting at the desk.

"Sir, your comments constitute direct sexual harassment."

She pointed toward the corner of the ceiling.

"There are cameras in this clinic. Every word you just said and every move you've made has been recorded."

Her voice wasn't raised, but it carried sharply enough for the entire hallway to hear.

"If you do not leave immediately, I will call the police and press charges for harassment and disturbing the peace. You are in the emergency department of St. Jude's Medical Center. We monitor this space twenty-four seven."

The man's face drained of color.

His previous arrogance completely dissolved into panic.

"Who the hell are you trying to scare?"

"Try me," Sienna challenged, staring him down. "I am a doctor, and you came in as a patient. While you are in my exam room, you follow my rules. If you're not sick, get out. If you refuse, security will escort you. If you fight security, the cops will handle it. Make your choice."

Two uniformed security guards jogged over within seconds.

They flanked the open door, one guard's hand already hovering over his radio.

Her worst fear had just materialized.

The viral video was officially bleeding into her professional reputation.

"Reassign them. We respect the patient's preferences."

Her voice lacked the fierce steel it held just moments ago.

While the creep's blatant harassment had sparked her fury, a genuine patient rejecting her care hit her where it truly hurt.

She dragged her gaze back to the monitor, shifting her mouse to call up the subsequent file.

The door swung open once again.

It was the daughter of the sweet elderly woman she had treated earlier.

She stood in the doorway, clutching the lab slips and prescriptions Sienna had written, her eyes now clouded with deep suspicion. Her warm demeanor had vanished entirely.

"Doctor, I'm returning these. My mother will be seeking care elsewhere."

She dropped the paperwork onto a chair near the door, turned her back, and walked away.

Sienna stared at those discarded papers for a long, agonizing moment.

She had handwritten that prescription with meticulous care.

She had factored in the woman's fragile heart condition, carefully adjusting the dosages and specifically noting which pills to take with meals.
