"I just left the house. My mother told me that four years ago, she helped Sienna secure a residency spot to go abroad. What do you make of that?"
The other end of the line went silent.
Finn wasn't in a rush. He waited quietly, turning it over in his own mind.
The cigarette burned down halfway.
Isaac finally spoke.
"If your mother is saying that, she probably has no reason to lie... After all, it's something that can be verified."
Finn stubbed out the cigarette.
"Yeah, no one would ever suspect that Mrs. Fletcher of the Fletcher Group would lie. But hearing you say this only makes me more convinced of Sienna's innocence."
Isaac was at a loss for words.
"So you have a plan?"
"I'll do everything in my power to clear her name."
"You have a week. You need to hurry," Isaac said.
Finn felt a surge of renewed strength.
"Help me keep an eye on her well-being. She's strong, but anyone going through this would be affected."
"Don't worry."
Finn returned to the villa.
When he pushed the door open, Yolanda was sitting on the sofa.
A flash of surprise crossed her eyes when she saw him, but she quickly suppressed it.
She sat upright, her expression unchanged, and didn't speak first.
Finn changed his shoes, walked into the living room, and sat across from her.
His demeanor had changed entirely. He was no longer the lunatic who smashed tea sets and threw threats, but an exhausted son defeated by reality.
He kept his head down, fingers intertwined, his thumbs rubbing together.
"Mom, you said Sienna abandoned me for her future. I still don't believe it."
Yolanda looked at him without saying a word.
"But I thought about it the whole way back." Finn looked up, his eyes slightly red, his voice hoarse. "You're right. A girl with zero backing—how could she have gotten that spot? And I asked myself, why should she have chosen me? I couldn't give her anything. If you didn't approve, she would never be allowed into the Fletcher family."
Yolanda's brow twitched.
She hadn't expected him to say this.
"She was right to choose her future," Finn lowered his head, his voice dropping to a whisper.
She blew on it gently, the swirling steam masking the calculation in her eyes.
The evidence was meant to nail Sienna to the wall.
Since the events from back then were real, she wasn't afraid of Finn trying to pull any tricks.
On the contrary, letting him see it with his own eyes would solidify his despair, ensuring he'd never harbor any other thoughts again.
However, the way he had just treated her—smashing tea sets, making threats, humiliating her in front of others...
She couldn't just give him what he wanted immediately.
He had to pay some price for his insolence so she could assert her authority as a mother.
"I have it. But it's not in the house. If you want to see it, I'll have someone fetch it. It will take a few days."
Finn understood exactly what Yolanda was doing.
She was punishing him.
But he couldn't afford to wait a few days.
"Mom, aren't you in a rush for me and Chloe to get married?" he asked with a faint smile.
"What do you mean?" Yolanda narrowed her eyes, waiting for him to continue.
