"Lily, explain exactly what you mean!" he demanded anxiously, stepping forward to grab her.
Unexpectedly, Sienna lunged forward and shoved him hard.
Caught off guard, he stumbled.
Their eyes locked.
Finn's heart violently spasmed.
Sienna's gaze was overflowing with a torrential, raging hatred.
Yet those exact same eyes used to look at him brimming with laughter, always radiating deep affection...
But right now, she looked like she wanted to rip him to shreds.
"Don't you dare touch Lily! I'll kill you!"
Sienna spread her arms wide, shielding Lily behind her.
Finn felt as if he had been bludgeoned over the head.
Though his face remained devoid of expression, his eyes gave him away.
Something shattered in his gaze—not tears, but the very last remnants of his facade.
Sienna saw him as an enemy.
She thought he was going to hit her friend.
She thought he was going to hurt them.
But how could he ever do that?
He wanted to tell her he didn't write those posts, that he was investigating it, that he didn't report her, and that he was doing everything he could to save her.
But he couldn't say a word.
He could only stand there like a dartboard, letting every single one of Lily's venomous words pierce right through him.
He deserved it.
The store clerks had already called security.
Two men in uniform marched in, one of them reaching out for Lily.
"Ma'am, please calm down."
"Don't touch me!" Lily batted the guard's hand away. "I can walk out myself!"
She turned, stepped up to Sienna, and linked their arms.
"Bestie, let's go."
Sienna nodded.
Without sparing Finn a single glance, she followed Lily out of the boutique.
Finn stood completely still, watching Sienna's silhouette disappear through the doors.
His hands were still awkwardly shoved in his pockets, his fingers continuing to shake.
He clenched his fists tightly, desperately trying to force the trembling to stop, but it was useless.
"What a classless shrew, absolutely zero manners!"
Chloe was furious, completely losing her mood to try on any more dresses.
"Darling, let's just go home."
Upon returning to the villa, Finn went straight upstairs, shut his door, and locked it.
Finn picked up his teacup and took a sip, completely unruffled.
"No rush. Just give it to me whenever you find it."
He didn't push her.
He knew he couldn't act desperate.
The more anxious he seemed, the more suspicious she would become.
He had to hand over the illusion of control, making her believe she held all the cards.
Yolanda nodded and casually brought up the events of the previous day.
Setting his teacup down, Finn answered her questions one by one.
He could sense his mother had already interrogated Chloe.
She was clearly highly satisfied with his performance yesterday.
After spending a little time playing with Chloe and York, Finn headed out.
The second he got into his car, he called Isaac.
"Buddy, I need you to stall the hearing. Give me a week."
Isaac paused.
"Running into roadblocks?"
"A few obstacles, but it doesn't matter. Man, you have to help me."
"I'll do my best."
"Not your best. It has to happen."
