I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 84

Isaac Holloway had another identity: he was Finn Fletcher's best friend.

Penny had mentioned they had known each other since childhood. Could it be...

She stopped her train of thought, pinning her hopes on Lily, knowing Lily would never speak up for Finn and would definitely talk some sense into her.

Lily replied quickly:

"I know! Director Holloway likes you and wants to pursue you!"

Sienna froze for a moment, then let out a helpless smile.

She casually sent Lily a poop emoji to end the conversation.

Of course, she didn't think Isaac had any romantic intentions toward her, but it reminded her of something.

She had promised to treat Isaac to a meal but hadn't followed through.

She picked up her phone again and texted him.

"Director Holloway, I mentioned treating you to a meal before but haven't had the time. Are you free for lunch tomorrow?"

It took Isaac three hours to reply.

"I'm free. See you tomorrow."

The next day.

Sienna arrived at Hunan Manor ten minutes early.

She sat at a table by the window, the lighting perfect.

She put her bag down and didn't bother opening the menu, her gaze drifting outside.

The April sunlight pierced through the glass, slicing a bright beam across the tabletop.

Isaac showed up on time.

He wore a dark blue casual suit over a light gray shirt.

Without the white coat he always kept buttoned to the top at the hospital, he looked like a completely different person.

Sienna paused for a second before standing up.

"Director Holloway, over here."

Isaac walked over. Framed by the suit, his shoulders were broad, his pace unhurried.

He sat down across from her, placed his phone on the table, and smiled.

"Dr. Sterling, thanks for treating me."

"It's the least I could do. You've helped me a lot lately."

"Dr. Sterling, are you trying to trick me?"

Sienna smiled, not denying it.

Isaac shook his head, a helpless smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

He remembered what Finn had said on the phone last night.

When he told Finn that Sienna had invited him to lunch, there was a few seconds of silence on the other end before Finn spoke.

"She might try to trick you. Don't fall for it. She's a little fox sometimes."

Isaac hadn't taken it seriously at the time.

Now he believed it.

"Director Holloway?" Sienna prompted.

Isaac snapped out of his daze, looking at those quiet eyes demanding an answer.

He suddenly understood why Finn hadn't been able to let her go after all these years.

"I wasn't the one who brought Professor von Zale," he admitted.

"I know." Sienna didn't press further, merely picking up her glass and taking a delicate sip. "It was Finn."
