I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 86

It was a landscape photo—a stretch of ocean beneath a brilliant blue sky.

He stared at that picture for a very long time.

Then he clicked "Add to Contacts" and typed a line in the request message.

"It's Finn Fletcher. I have some things I want to tell you. I'm not trying to pester you. I just want to explain."

His finger hovered over the send button for ages before he backed out.

He rewrote it, drafting several versions, but none felt right.

He needed a message that Sienna would read and immediately accept.

But no matter how he looked at it, he wasn't satisfied.

"Finn, York wants to ride the Ferris wheel. Let's go as a family," Chloe Cross said.

Finn shoved his phone into his pocket.

"I'll buy the tickets for you two. I won't go."

Disappointment flooded Chloe's eyes.

She didn't know why, but Finn seemed like a completely different person today.

He had been so wonderful over the past couple of weeks. She thought he had changed, but today, it felt like he had reverted to his cold self, making her incredibly anxious.

Meanwhile, at the Fletcher villa, Yolanda Fletcher sat in the study, her face livid.

Several documents were spread across the coffee table—the investigation results from the hospital's Ethics & Compliance Board.

Sienna had been proven innocent.

She had just gotten off the phone.

"Ms. Fletcher, there's nothing we can do. Someone pulled strings, and the hospital has to follow standard procedure. They can't penalize Sienna."

Yolanda lowered her voice to a dangerous whisper.

"What's going on? Who did this?"

The person hesitated.

"We can't pinpoint the exact person, but they have massive influence, clearing paths from the top down. Professor von Zale was personally invited, and moves were made on the forum as well. Ms. Fletcher, I'm truly sorry."

Yolanda hung up, her fingers gripping the phone tightly.

She checked the FLIGHT forum. The post was gone.

Replacing it was Pilot's pinned statement.

She clicked on the statement and read it from start to finish.

A chill ran down her spine.

Answering the call, Finn immediately sensed the hostility. He looked at Chloe, who was biting her lip in disappointment, and changed his mind.

"Mom, I'm at the amusement park with Chloe and York. We're about to ride the Ferris wheel together as a family. Did you need something?"

He listened carefully to the silence on the other end.

It lasted for three seconds.

Then she replied:

"Have fun, then."

She hung up.

Finn pondered for a moment. Sienna's situation wasn't entirely resolved yet, so he would have to keep playing his part here.

"Let's go. We'll ride it together."

Chloe beamed, instantly forgetting the awkwardness from a moment ago.

On Yolanda's end, she practically crushed her phone in her grip.

She had suddenly changed her mind.

If he could act, couldn't she do the same?

She was going to show Finn exactly what happened when he dared to defy and deceive her.
