I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 130

Quentin's long fingers paused briefly on the polished surface of the desk.

Sterling was right. He was a man who demanded hard data and bulletproof evidence.

Having clawed his way to the top of the corporate world, he was far more cynical than most. He never trusted anyone easily.

But last night on that park bench, looking into Bonnie's red, fiercely stubborn eyes, he had believed her without a second thought.

Even though she didn't have a single shred of proof.

"Quentin."

Sterling leaned in closer, his eyes zeroing back in on the cut on Quentin's lip. A sly, knowing grin spread across his face.

"Your wife bit you, didn't she?"

"So, you've actually fallen for her? You're already taking orders from her pillow talk?"

Quentin's brow instantly knit together. He shot Sterling a look so sharp it could cut glass.

"Watch your mouth."

His voice was a low, dangerous rumble, radiating the crushing pressure of a predator. "You do not have the clearance to question my decisions."

Sterling immediately clutched his chest, feigning dramatic heartbreak.

"I finally manage to develop feelings for a woman, and you're telling me you've actually fallen for Bonnie? Don't tell me you're backing out of the three-year divorce plan?"

Quentin didn't say a word. He simply kept his icy, lethal gaze locked onto Sterling.

Sterling felt a chill race down his spine and immediately dropped the act.

"Alright, alright, I'll drop it."

He cleared his throat, his expression turning serious. "On a separate note, Vivian Xavier just received her PhD. I hear she's flying into Harlow City in the next few days. She's done a lot for you over the years, and you canceled the engagement the second you returned. If you don't secure her, Parrish might actually snatch her up for the York family."

Vivian Xavier was polished, ruthless, and incredibly calculated.

Sterling openly admitted she was out of his league; only a man like Quentin could handle a woman like her.

Yet, completely subverting everyone's expectations, Quentin had rejected the arranged marriage the minute he landed, opting to marry a complete stranger instead.
