I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 146

However, the base was filled with wet sand, making it impossibly heavy.

Jasper Ford pushed with everything he had, his face flushing red with the effort, but the heavy bag merely wobbled on the floor and refused to budge.

Unable to watch the struggle any longer, Quentin Vance walked over and lent a hand.

Together, they finally righted the bag.

Quentin shot him a sidelong glance. "I told you to work out more. You're completely out of shape."

Jasper groaned inwardly, feeling like collateral damage in his boss's bad mood.

But he didn't dare talk back, bracing himself to report the day's business.

"Mr. Vance, Vivian's flight lands tomorrow afternoon. She was hoping you could pick her up at the airport personally."

Hearing this, the irritation in Quentin's eyes deepened. "Tell Parrish to go."

He let out a dark scoff, his voice devoid of any warmth. "She's Parrish's fiancée. Anything concerning her goes straight to him. Don't bother me with it."

Jasper kept his head down. "Parrish is in the hospital. It's pretty serious—he hasn't woken up yet."

Quentin paused in the middle of wiping his sweat with a towel, his predatory gaze narrowing slightly. "What happened?"

"Word is that right before he collapsed, he saw Bonnie leave with another man. The shock must have been too much for him, and the emotional spike triggered his old brain injury."

"The doctors said if he doesn't wake up within three days, they'll have to schedule him for brain surgery."

A mocking smirk curled on Quentin's lips.

"Useless."

He tossed the towel onto the bench and ordered coldly, "Inform Vivian about his condition."

"Understood," Jasper nodded.

Having finished the official update, Jasper remained where he was, looking like he wanted to say something but was holding back.

Quentin was already agitated, and his assistant's hesitation only made his brow furrow deeper.

"Spit it out."

Jasper asked cautiously, "Bonnie mentioned... you blocked her number?"

Quentin's expression darkened dangerously, his response sharp and cold. "She brought it on herself."

After saying that, something seemed to cross his mind.

His gaze turned somber, fixing onto Jasper with a piercing intensity. The chilling look sent a shiver straight down Jasper's spine.
