I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 261

She let out a long breath, trying hard to suppress the uncomfortable feeling inside.

Just then, Quentin's unhurried voice drifted from outside.

"You feel bad for her? Great. You marry her, and I'll send a wedding gift."

Sterling was speechless.

He choked for a moment before laughing and cursing, "How is your mouth still this toxic? Aren't you in a relationship now? Can't you be a little gentler with women?"

Quentin's expression remained completely stoic.

Sterling clicked his tongue. "Besides, she's engaged. How am I supposed to marry her?"

The moment the words left his mouth, Sterling caught himself.

Quentin looked up at him, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.

Realizing his slip-up, Sterling immediately snapped the clipboard shut and casually took half a step back.

"Don't look at me like that. You're the only one who can handle a woman like her. Leave me out of it."

Quentin said coldly, "I already have a wife. If I hear you say something like that again, you can kiss your tongue goodbye."

Sterling's mouth twitched. "You'd be that ruthless to a brother?"

But he was just running his mouth. He knew better than anyone what kind of man Quentin was.

During those years abroad, this man had carved Vance Global out of the vicious corporate meat grinder using nothing but brutal tactics.

Those who betrayed him met catastrophic ends; ripping out a tongue would be letting them off easy.

Sterling hadn't developed a death wish yet, so he wasn't going to seriously test Quentin's bottom line.

The doctors quickly finished the checkup.

The attending physician glanced at the data and reported quietly, "Boss, your vitals have mostly stabilized. Luckily, you were brought in early. The residual toxins still need time to metabolize, so please rest for the next few days. Avoid emotional fluctuations and strenuous activity."

Quentin gave a faint, "Mm."

Then, he looked toward the dressing room. "Give her a full-body checkup as well."
