I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 58

With that, Seraphina reached out to slam the door shut.

But Bonnie was faster.

She thrust out a hand and shoved it flat against the door.

Seraphina threw all her weight into trying to force it closed, but the door felt like it was welded in place, completely unmoving beneath Bonnie's palm.

Seraphina had been spoiled since childhood and had never done a day of hard labor.

Bonnie, on the other hand, had grown up in the mountains. From a young age, she had hiked the rugged terrain with her grandfather to gather herbs, and later on, she had taken on every grueling job imaginable just to survive.

When it came to physical strength, Seraphina wasn't even in the same league.

Bonnie watched her face turn crimson with exertion, then gave a violent shove.

"Ah!"

Seraphina cried out, stumbling backward several steps from the force of the door, nearly falling into the entryway.

Taking advantage of the opening, Bonnie stepped inside and slammed the door shut behind her.

"Bonnie Hayes! You're insane! You're trespassing!"

Seraphina shrieked, her voice finally betraying a sliver of genuine panic.

Bonnie completely ignored her screaming.

Her eyes were filled with icy resolve as she scanned the living room before making a beeline straight for the bedroom.

"You can't go in there! Stop right there!"

Seraphina, her eyes red with panic, lunged forward to grab her.

Bonnie simply shifted her shoulder, effortlessly dodging the grasp, and pushed open the master bedroom door.

The room smelled heavily of expensive perfume, and a few medical journals were scattered messily on the nightstand.

Without a word, Bonnie started tearing the place apart.

Bookshelves, drawers, the nightstand—she refused to leave a single spot unchecked.

"Bonnie! You psycho! You're a thug!"

Seraphina trembled with rage as she looked at her thoroughly trashed bedroom.

Knowing she couldn't physically stop Bonnie, she scrambled for her phone and rapidly dialed Parrish's number.

"Parrish! Hurry, come over here! Bonnie's lost her mind!"

Seraphina wailed into the phone, her voice dripping with grievances and fear.

Watching her act like a rabid animal utterly immune to reason, Parrish's temper spiked to its absolute limit.

"Bonnie, I said stop!"

Bonnie continued to ignore him, keeping her head down as she desperately reached into the very back of the cabinet.

Parrish snapped.

Smack!

A sharp, ringing slap instantly silenced the room.

Parrish's hand froze in mid-air, and even he looked stunned.

He had never hit anyone before.

Especially not Bonnie.

Bonnie's head snapped to the side from the force, her disheveled hair hiding half of her face.

She remained half-kneeling on the ground, entirely motionless, like a statue that had suddenly weathered into stone.

A piercing ring echoed in her ears, and the side of her face rapidly grew red, swollen, and scorching hot in a matter of seconds.

She didn't even feel the pain; her mind just went entirely blank for a moment.
