Quentin shot him a glare so sharp it could draw blood.
Sterling's laughter choked off instantly. He rubbed his nose guiltily and cleared his throat.
"Alright, alright, my lips are sealed."
He quickly pivoted, adopting a more serious tone.
"By the way, the Davenport Wellness Pavilion is hosting a massive charity clinic tomorrow. Parrish York dumped a fortune into it just to pave the runway for his golden girl. He arranged it so Seraphina Miller gets face time with Master Nathaniel Thorne, hoping the old man will take her on as his final apprentice."
"I've seen Seraphina's file. She's aggressively mediocre. Someone with Nathaniel's standards won't even look at her twice."
Sterling clicked his tongue in pity. "Honestly, if your wife went and showed off what she can do, she might actually have a shot. Too bad she isn't on the roster for tomorrow."
Quentin stared deadpan at Sterling.
His gaze was so heavy and unfathomable that the hairs on the back of Sterling's neck stood up.
"Okay, okay, we'll stop talking about her. Where are we heading next?" Sterling threw his hands up in surrender.
Quentin had already turned away, his long legs striding toward the waiting golf cart.
As he passed Sterling, he dropped a single sentence.
"With your influence, adding a name to that roster shouldn't be difficult."
Sterling's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Are you... asking me to put your wife on the list?"
"I didn't say that."
Sterling watched his retreating back and clicked his tongue.
Stubborn as hell.
"Alright, hold your horses. I'll make the call right now," Sterling chuckled, shaking his head.
...
That evening, as soon as Bonnie returned to Riverstone Heights, she received a notification from the Pavilion.
Due to a last-minute adjustment in the support staff, she was ordered to join the clinic team tomorrow to handle logistics.
Reading the screen, Bonnie's eyes lit up like fireworks.
This was an incredible surprise!
She lived for these charity clinics. Whenever she had free time, she volunteered at local shelters and nursing homes to offer free consultations.
Tackling those highly complex cases gave her hands-on experience she could never find in a textbook, and it allowed her to expand her medical ledger.
And tomorrow, they were going to the most prestigious retirement estate in Harlow City.
The facility was home to highly decorated veterans and retired officials, meaning there would be a goldmine of chronic, obscure diseases.
Even if she was just going to be fetching water and carrying boxes, just being in the room with those cases was invaluable.
