I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 120

The violation of being stalked by a clinically unhinged sociopath made Gavin's skin crawl.

He meticulously reviewed his feed. Thankfully, he hadn't leaked their address or real names. After screenshotting the memories, he permanently wiped the entire account.

The next morning, Gavin headed downstairs earlier than usual. Before he even reached his car, he ran into Sarah.

"Morning, Sarah," he called out cheerfully.

"You're up early. Come up and have breakfast," Sarah offered, the warmth in her eyes unmistakable. Her entire demeanor had softened toward him.

Thanking her, Gavin bounded up the stairs to Sophie's apartment.

"You're early."

Sophie had just finished washing her face and was wearing a fluffy spa headband with bunny ears.

"Your mom invited me for breakfast."

Gavin reached out and flicked one of the bunny ears. Sophie swatted his hand away with a scowl, which only made his grin widen. She looked utterly adorable, pouting like a teenager.

"Sleep well?" He stepped closer, crowding her space.

"Perfectly."

Sophie smiled and tilted her head toward the dining room, where Sarah was setting out oatmeal and toast. "Go eat. I haven't even put my moisturizer on yet."

"What happened here?"

As she turned, the morning light caught a faint, jagged scar just beneath her left eye. He had assumed it was a shadow before, but up close, the pale line was undeniable. It blended flawlessly with her skin, invisible unless someone was inches away.

Sophie gently pulled his hand down. "A scratch. Another kid got me when we were little."

"You were a brawler too?" Gavin leaned in for a closer look. Her skin was otherwise flawless.

"I didn't want to fight, but I didn't always have a choice."

Sophie subconsciously touched the scar. She hated talking about her childhood. She didn't remember the girl's face, but she remembered exactly why it happened. The girl had called her a fatherless bastard.

Blind with rage, Sophie had shoved her. Two other girls had jumped in, and in the chaos, one of them had clawed her face.
