I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 134

"You really are impossible..."

Sophie glared at her blouse, now hopelessly wrinkled from his grip. It was broad daylight, yet he was acting like a werewolf on a full moon again.

What was even more infuriating was how thoroughly rumpled she looked, while his dress shirt remained perfectly crisp and pristine.

Sophie marched into her bedroom to change her clothes, fix her hair, and apply some light makeup. When she finally emerged, Gavin was sipping his coffee with infuriating calmness.

He had totally flustered her, yet he looked entirely at ease.

"It tastes fantastic." Gavin raised his mug, the corners of his mouth curving up as the amusement in his eyes deepened.

Sophie had changed into a light blue satin blouse and a navy skirt. As she approached him, she shot him another withering glare.

"Hurry up," she urged.

When they stepped into the elevator, Sophie was still irritated. She swung her purse and lightly smacked him on the back.

"Ouch," Gavin hissed playfully, catching both of her wrists.

Like hell that hurt. When he had pinned her against the counter earlier, the hard marble edge digging into her lower back—that was what actually hurt.

"You've got a lot of nerve complaining."

With her hands trapped, Sophie resorted to her feet, deliberately stepping on Gavin's shoe and leaving a dusty smudge on the polished black leather.

They were right in the middle of their playful scuffle when the elevator doors unexpectedly slid open.

Sophie and Gavin instantly dropped their hands, straightening their postures and wiping their faces into masks of utter professionalism.

The colleague who stepped in took one look at them and immediately turned around to face the doors.

Sophie and Gavin exchanged a quick glance, simultaneously biting their lips to hold back a burst of laughter.

It felt exactly like whispering in class, only to have the teacher spin around to catch the culprits, completely failing to spot who was talking.

They were like two mischievous high schoolers who had successfully dodged the teacher's gaze, holding back wicked grins.

As the thought crossed Sophie's mind, she pressed her lips together even tighter. Being with Gavin was genuinely turning her into a rebellious teenager.

She had never acted like this back in school; she had been the most obedient, perfect student imaginable. Even if that perfection was mostly an act.

By the time she arrived at the office, her eyes were still sparkling with amusement.
