I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 155

Sophie sat rigid on the sofa, her fists clenched so tight her knuckles turned white. It took every ounce of self-control she had left to keep herself from storming over and delivering a few more solid kicks to Eileen.

Gavin sensed her suffocating rage and gently covered her trembling fist with his hand.

Eileen glanced at the three people sitting across from her. Their expressions were dangerously stormy, and not a single one of them uttered a word.

She scrambled off the floor and planted herself on the opposite sofa. Knowing she was outnumbered and outmatched for the moment, she kept her mouth shut, opting instead to shoot venomous glares at Sophie.

Sophie glared right back, her eyes burning with defiance.

The moment Victoria arrived, Eileen threw herself into her mother's arms, sobbing hysterically, "Mom... they ganged up on me and bullied me!"

"I bullied you?"

Sophie found the accusation so absurd it was almost laughable. She had retreated time and time again, yet these people refused to let her breathe, constantly pinning grotesque, fabricated sins on her. How much further was she supposed to back away?

"Show me your proof. Give me a witness, show me the evidence... Stop throwing your filthy lies at me like it's fact. I am not going to sit here and let you walk all over me."

Sophie didn't even look at Eileen; she locked eyes with Victoria. You couldn't reason with a lunatic, so she would reason with the lunatic's mother.

"What proof? Wasn't everything I just said proof enough?" Eileen started screaming again. "Mom, tell them! Tell them if I'm making this up. Didn't you pull Dad's travel records to Seattle?"

"Where is Harold Harper? Is he the one claiming I seduced him? I want to confront him face to face." Sophie's fists clenched even tighter.

Victoria subtly scanned Gillian, quickly deducing her relationship with Gavin.
