I Walked Away Seven Years Too Late But Right on Time novel Chapter 214

Whenever Sophie ignored him, he would turn the tables, pulling her into his arms and singing lullabies to her instead. Surprisingly, it worked, and she would drift off to sleep in no time.

"I've perfected my baby-soothing skills. I'm going to need a chance to put them to use," Gavin whispered, hugging her from behind and continuing his gentle coaxing.

"Depends on your performance," Sophie tossed back with a playful smile.

Their final stop was The Swiss Cocoa Estate. After touring the production line, they rolled up their sleeves and tried their hand at making sweets.

Gavin popped his first successfully crafted chocolate into Sophie's mouth, his eyes brimming with affection.

He wasn't her first boyfriend, but he was determined to share as many 'firsts' with her as possible.

From the very first time Sophie blurted out the name of The Azure Tarn, he knew that St. Moritz held some sort of special significance for her.

He had asked her that day, "Do you like it there?"

She had remained silent for a long time before finally replying, "It looks like a beautiful place."

From that moment on, he planned to bring her here one day, determined to bury her old memories under layers of new, joyous ones.

The next time St. Moritz was mentioned, he wanted her to only remember the sweetness of their time together.

When they returned, the only souvenirs they brought back were the cookies and chocolates they had made themselves at the estate.

Mia Jenkins was overjoyed, running circles around the couple before throwing her arms around Jason Jenkins's neck and begging, "Dad, I want to go too! Take me and Mama Gwen next year!"

Mia now called Gwen Grayson "Mama Gwen." Gwen genuinely didn't care about the title; she would have been perfectly fine if Mia had continued calling her just by her name.

After marrying Jason, Gwen had never asked Mia to change how she addressed her. It was likely Jason who had a heart-to-heart with the little girl, and Mia had settled on this affectionate compromise.

On the fifth day of the New Year, Mia's biological mother came to pick her up for an outing, only to drop her back off less than half a day later.

As soon as she walked in, Mia leaned into Jason's ear and whispered, "Mom asked me if you and Mama Gwen fight. I told her no. She kept asking a bunch of other questions, but I didn't want to answer her."
