I was his allergen she was his cure what if this allergen turns lethal? novel Chapter 64

Chapter 1

I opened my eyes to the panicked shouting of my son.

I stared at him, stunned, unable to believe what I was seeing.

“Mom, why are you just standing there?” he snapped, shoving me toward the living room.

I nearly fell onto Michael, and that’s when it hit me-I’d been reborn.

“Dad looks like he’s having a stroke. You better check on him,” my son said urgently.

That’s when I realized something was off.

Most people say “stroke,” but only someone with medical training would instinctively call it a “brain hemorrhage.”

It was clear-they’d planned this from the start.

And me?

I was the fool who believed every word they said, blindly shouldering Michael’s company’s crushing debt like an idiot.

“I called it,” Alice said as she knelt next to Michael, performing CPR.

“David’s pretty sharp. I explained it once, and he remembered it perfectly.”

“But I’ve only stabilized him. We’ll need to monitor his condition closely,” she added.

“Wow, Aunt Alice, you’re amazing!”

David chimed in eagerly.

“If it weren’t for you, with my mom being the way she is, Dad probably wouldn’t have made it. Aunt Alice, you should just stay and take care of

him!”

David’s words were filled with admiration for Alice-and subtle digs at me.

Back then, I dismissed it as youthful immaturity.

But looking back, this was when they started working together.

What a “wonderful” son I raised.

I quickly interrupted, “Dr. Brown, I know your hospital work keeps you busy. We can’t let this affect your job.”

In my previous life, I hadn’t stopped David from making this request.

I’d even felt sorry for Alice, going so far as to give her a hefty sum of money.

But now, I could see the scheming in their eyes, and I silently vowed: not this time.

Michael’s company was worth millions annually.

How had it collapsed so quickly after his so-called brain hemorrhage, only to be snatched up by a competitor?

Chapter 1

The company’s money had vanished, leaving only massive debts.

But I didn’t know how they’d siphoned off the assets yet, so I had to bide my time.

Alice quickly said, “It’s fine. I can just check in after work.”

“Michael and I grew up together. We’re practically family. Don’t be so formal, and don’t worry about bothering me.”

I paused, thinking.

“How about this? Ill pay you $30 a day for your help. Please don’t refuse, or I can’t agree to you taking care of Michael.”

Alice exchanged a subtle glance with David before nodding.

I wasn’t naive-I knew if I didn’t pay her, Michael would find a way to.

Probably even more than I was offering.

By making it official, I could track it later.

I thought through all of this but forgot one thing-David.

“You’ve got the nerve to offer $30 a day? That’s embarrassing,” David spat.

“Dad’s in this condition, and all you can think about is money? Grandpa was right-you’ll always be a small-town nobody.”

I glared at him coldly. “Is this how you speak to your elders?”

“What attitude?” he shot back, practically exploding.

“If it weren’t for Dad working his butt off out there, you wouldn’t even have this life!”

Every word felt like a knife twisting in my chest.

I had no idea that, in David’s eyes, I was so worthless.

I’d sacrificed everything for him and Michael, only to be labeled a “parasite”?

I clenched my fists, suppressing the pain inside.

Right on cue, Michael woke up and softly scolded David.

“Don’t say such things.”

“Your mom has done so much for this family. Being a stay-at-home mom is a job too.”

He always used that line to guilt-trip me.

But this time, I didn’t fall for it.

“Michael, you’re not well right now. Let me take over the company.”
