Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 258

Chapter 258

Stella kept saying divorce papers over and over again.

And yes, that was the outcome Dora had wanted too.

But hearing it in Stella’s tone now, it somehow sounded… arrogant.

“What exactly are you trying to say?”

Yes.

Arrogant.

That attitude, like she was the one smugly throwing Evan away, made Dora’s anger feel like it was about to burn straight through her.

She already hated Stella enough as it was.

But the mocking edge in Stella’s voice made it even worse.

What was that supposed to mean? That she, Dora, was some meddling mother who only knew how to drive a wedge between husband and wife?

Dora wished she could reach through the phone and slap her.

Stella said coolly, “What I mean is, can I get the signed divorce papers from you tomorrow?”

If Evan signed them on his own, Stella worried he would come up with some new twisted excuse.

But if his own mother kept whispering in his ear, there was a good chance he would not be able to hold out.

And that was exactly what Stella wanted.

This suffocating, disgusting relationship…

She wanted it over as soon as possible.

Hearing Stella’s high and mighty tone, Dora was nearly beside herself with rage.

“Don’t worry. You’ll get them.”

Then she added viciously, “In a place like Harbor City, once you lose Evan, I’d love to see who’s still left to protect you.”

That was what Dora truly believed.

Did Stella think that just because she had attached herself to Felix, someone would protect her now?

The elders in the Hernandez family were not soft.

The only reason they had not done anything yet was because Stella was still Evan’s wife.

The moment she was not, and if she still dared get close to Felix like that, his family would tear her apart.

Stella said lightly, “Then I’ll wait for your good news.”

The smile in her voice pushed Dora right to the edge.

She was actually waiting for good news?

To Stella, getting Evan to sign the divorce papers would be good news.

Dora had wanted her out of the Wright family for a long time already

Seething, Dora hung up.

Then she headed to Summer’s hospital room.

Summer’s eyes were red, like she had just finished crying.

“Summer,” Dora said, her tone softening, “about the baby… you need to try to take it a little easier.”

Dora’s heart ached over the child too.

Fiona was there as well.

Summer looked up and immediately noticed Dora’s swollen face. She froze.

“Mom, what happened to your face? Who… who hit you?”

It had to be a hit, right?

Dora’s face was visibly uneven. One side was clearly swollen.

The moment Summer said it, Fiona saw it too and gasped.

“Mom, what happened to your face? Did someone hit you?”

Looking more closely, she could even make out uneven finger marks. One in particular stood out, red and swollen.

It was obvious someone had slapped her.

Dora’s face darkened. “Don’t ask.”

The moment it came to being hit, her chest filled with anger all over again.

That uncultured Stella.

Dora had always thought that a girl raised in an orphanage, with no one behind her, would naturally be harsher and more vicious by nature.

And apparently, she had been right.

Stella had not even divorced Evan yet, and she already dared lay hands on her.

“Who did it?” Fiona pressed, her voice sharp with anger when Dora would not answer.

Damn it.
