Chapter 303

As soon as Grace said that, everyone was stunned. Silence hung in the air for a long moment.
After a long silence, Walker finally spoke up, stunned. “What did you just say? She’s the Chairman of SN Corporation and the owner of Midnight Club?”
Up until now, all they knew was that Nina worked as a hostess at a nightclub. They didn’t know anything else about her.
They weren’t close with Charles’s family, and those relatives never shared much about Nina with them.
But now, Grace was actually saying that Nina was the Chairman of SN Corporation and the owner of Midnight Club? No fucking way.
SN Corporation was an international giant that had skyrocketed in just a few years. Even the Foster family, with all their history, had been left in the dust by SN.
If SN Corporation didn’t belong to any family in Betrico, the title of Betrico’s richest would’ve already switched hands.
And then there was Midnight Club.
With locations all across the country and some serious backing, Midnight Club might not have SN’s wealth, but its status was on a whole different level.
ust as Grace was about to speak, Tina snorted. “Aunt Grace, are you serious right now? The Chairman of SN Corporation ind owner of Midnight Club? Nina’s barely out of school.
You really think she could run something like that? I know Ryan ended up with a nightclub hostess and you’re desperate to nake her look good, but come on, this is just too much.”
Tina kept going. “She grew up in a nightclub. Even if she hustled every night, there’s no way she’d have the kind of money to start a company.
And Midnight Club? That place has branches everywhere, with some serious big shots backing it. And you really think some girl like her could handle all that?”
As soon as Tina finished, the rest of the Foster family looked visibly relieved.
So that’s it. Grace was just trying to make Nina look good by making up stories. Come on, Nina is so young. How could she possibly be so powerful? they all thought to themselves.
Grace laughed in disbelief, clearly annoyed. “You think I’m making things up?”
‘Isn’t it obvious?” Tina glanced at Nina, standing beside Ryan. “Seriously, what else does she have besides a pretty face!
“Aunt Grace, you say my brother’s useless, but at least he knows to marry someone who’s useful to him. But Ryan picked a wife who dragged you to the nightclub.
“Do you even know we’re trending all over social media? People online are saying our family’s rotten from the top down?
“Hmph!” Maria, who had been silent until now, let out a cold snort. “If you hate living with us, just move out.
She turned to Zachary. “Zachary, go get the family register. Let’s split up the family today
As soon as Maria said that, everyone except Charles’s family stared at her in utter disbelief.

It didn’t take long for Ximena to snap out of it. She shouted, “Mom, have you lost your mind? Nina dragged you all out to party at Midnight Club. Instead of thinking about what you’ve done, you want to split up the family?
“I know you’ve always played favorites with Charles and his family, but you can’t be serious right now!”
Maria shot her a cold look and said flatly, “That’s right. I do favor Charles and his family. If you can’t handle it, then move out.”
Whether she was biased or not, anyone with common sense could see for themselves.
Maria never claimed to be a perfect mother, but she always made sure to treat all her kids with absolute fairness.
Son or daughter, whenever she bought something, everyone got an equal share. Nobody was ever left out.
When it came to their education, she made sure every kid had the same support and resources.
Even after they graduated, when it came to dividing up the family business, she never gave anyone less just because their grades weren’t as good.
The Foster family owned a bunch of companies, but the Foster Group was the real cash cow.
Back then, her husband Zachary stepped down early to give his kids a shot. He assigned tasks and put them through a series of tests to see who had what it takes.
In the end, Charles got the top spot because he aced every test.
Rocco and Walker weren’t capable enough, but Maria still handed them each a subsidiary to manage.
Even the daughters who married out got their own piece of the pie with subsidiary management rights.
Every company under the Foster family was turning a profit, except for the ones run by Rocco and Walker.
Those two subsidiaries were bleeding money year after year, losing at least 3 million dollars annually.
In the end, Zachary had no choice but to shut them down. But Rocco and Walker wouldn’t quit. They wanted to start their own thing, so Zachary used his own share of profits to help fund their startups.
But no matter how much cash he poured in, those companies never showed any signs of life.
The only reason those businesses hadn’t gone under yet was that Zachary was quietly keeping them afloat behind the scenes
But they couldn’t be satisfied. They set their sights on taking over the Foster Group and had been stirring up drama with her and her husband nonstop these past few years.
As a mother, Maria felt she’d already done more than most. In a rich family like theirs, it was rare for any parent ia at all their kids equally
at
Not being forgotten was already a blessing. But Rocco and Walker always accused her out favoritism just because she harshed the Foster Group to Charles,
Maria thought to herself, ‘You can’t wake someone who’s pretending to be asleep She stopped bothering to explain
Rocco and Walker ended up holding a grudge, and these days, they wouldn’t even bother to visit them except for the festivals.
Maria’s blunt words left Ximena choking with embarrassment, her face flushing red as she struggled to respond

Back when they accused Maria of favoritism, Maria would always defend herself. But today? She admitted it and even told them to pack up and move out.
Ximena opened her mouth to say something, but Charles shot her a glare. “Is that how you talk to Mom? Don’t you know how good she’s been to you? Say one more word, and you can get out!”
Ximena felt uncomfortable, but she didn’t say another word.
She and Walker were a couple. Of course, she knew exactly what he was scheming.
She could get away with a little drama here and there, but if she really pushed things so far that Maria kicked them out of the family, Walker would turn on her in a heartbeat.
‘Mom, don’t get upset. Ximena always speaks her mind. She didn’t mean it,” Walker said, flashing a fawning smile.
You and Dad are both alive. Splitting up the family isn’t even an option. We can’t even talk about that. If outsiders hear about it, they’ll say we’re ungrateful kids.”
This family can’t split up, not a chance,‘ Walker thought to himself.
Ryan was in charge of the Foster Group at the moment. If they split, they’d be out of the picture for good.
If he just tossed them a couple of random subsidiaries, and after that, they’d be screwed down the line.
Maria knew exactly what he was up to.
What, weren’t you all so ashamed of me for going to Midnight Club? If we split up, you won’t have a mom to embarrass you anymore. Isn’t that just perfect for you?” she snorted, her tone icy.
Walker let out an awkward laugh. “Mom, it’s not that we’re ashamed of you. It’s just that the media’s been saying some pretty harsh things. We’re worried it could affect our business.”
‘Oh, really?” Ryan said, hands in his pockets, giving Walker a half–smirk. “Uncle Walker, why don’t you tell me which media outlets have been talking trash? I’ve got some free time. Maybe I’ll pay them a visit myself.”
