Chapter 316
At the Foster family’s place. As soon as Romy and Ximena caught wind of the news, they stormed into the Foster family’s house, kicking up a fuss.
Romy was bawling her eyes out in front of Maria and Zachary. “Mom, Dad, no matter what happens, we’re all part of the Foster family! But Ryan, just a kid, actually sent his own uncles to jail. How could he be so cruel?”
She wailed, “Now that something’s happened to Rocco, how are we women supposed to survive?”
“If there’s no way out for us, then we might as well just die here at home. I’m Rocco’s wife. We were born as members of the Foster family, and even in death, we’ll still belong to the Foster family!” she cried.
Ximena started crying too, “Isn’t that the truth? We never get any of the benefits, but all the trouble ends up dumped on us. Seriously, what did we ever do to deserve this?”
The moment Grace walked in and heard those two bawling their heads off, she just rolled her eyes and said, “Wow, sounds like you’re sick of living and ready to drop dead, huh?”
Grace handed her bag to the maid, sat down next to Maria, and crossed her legs with a flourish. “So what’s the holdup? Go ahead, pick your favorite way to kick the bucket. When you’re done, I’ll make sure your funerals are top–notch.”
Ximena just stared, completely speechless.
Romy could only gape, words stuck in her throat.
They’d always suspected Grace was scheming, and now she was finally showing her true colors.
Seeing the two of you just standing there, Grace arched an eyebrow. “What’s up? Weren’t you just swearing you wouldn’t leave this house alive? Now you’re backing out? First Sis–in–law, Second Sis–in–law, your acting is seriously weak; it’s honestly cringeworthy to watch.”
Before Ximena and Romy could say anything, Grace jumped in again.
“If I were you, I’d pop some pills, cut my wrists, or just smash my head against the wall right here. But come on, with all these people around, do you really think anyone’s gonna let you actually do it? Someone’s definitely gonna stop you.”
Maria scooted over with a dismissive twist of her lips; there was no way she was going to stop them.
Zachary, reading glasses on, just scrolled through the breaking news on his phone, making it pretty obvious he wasn’t about to lift a finger either.
The moment Grace finished talking, all the servants in the house ducked their heads and got busy cleaning, acting like they hadn’t heard a word.
None of them dared to step in, either.
Ximena and Romy just stood there, completely speechless.
They thought,
They finally realized it: the only ones who actually mattered in this house were Zachary, Maria, and Grace. Even if the two of them really dropped dead here today, not a single soul would bat an eye.

Zachary, Maria, and Grace: ‘Yeah, we could probably squeeze out a couple of tears for you!

Seeing that all their drama hadn’t moved Zachary or Maria at all, Ximena finally dropped the act. “You guys hog all the benefits, and we’re not even allowed to feel anything? Nobody’s perfect. Are you really going to let them die over one little
mistake?”
Romy dropped to her knees in front of Zachary. “Dad, they’re your own flesh and blood. Are you really just going to stand there and watch them die in prison?”
Zachary was getting annoyed.
Those two sons of his never had good intentions.
Now that this had happened, they had it coming.
Zachary was about to call someone over.
Ryan’s sudden entrance stopped Zachary in his tracks.
The moment Ximena and Romy saw Ryan, they instantly lost it and rushed at him like a pair of madwomen.
But before they could even get within arm’s reach, Ryan booted them across the room with a single kick.
At the same time, Ryan could feel that surge of aura inside him, making his veins feel like they were opening up all over his body.
(Just so you guys know, from now on, whenever I mention ‘aura, I’m talking about the special power that sets ancient martial arts apart from the regular stuff.)
Suddenly, there was a loud thud.
Someone shouted.
First came a loud crash as bodies hit the floor, then Ximena and Romy let out screams so shrill they sounded like pigs being slaughtered.
Right now, the two of them were flat on their backs like upended pigs, arms and legs flailing in the air.
They’d been sent flying a whole 5 yards away from Ryan.
Grace was totally floored, but she still shot Ryan a big thumbs–up. “That’s my son! Total badass!”
Ryan ignored his mom’s hype and gave Ximena and Romy a frosty glare. “Are you going to scram yourselves, or do I need to have someone toss you out?”
Romy struggled to get up, but still grabbed Ximena to help her to her feet.
She plopped back down, smacking her thigh, clearly fed up. “Dad! No matter what Rocco’s done, he’s still your son, and I’m still your daughter–in–law! Ryan, just a kid, actually hit Ximena and me. Is he trying to turn the world upside down?”
Romy jabbed a finger at Grace and Ryan. “Can you believe what kind of mother that punk has?”
Ximena quickly wiped her tears and chimed in, “If Ryan ever wanted to kill someone, Grace would probably be the first to hand him the knife!”
“That little punk Ryan is seriously ruthless, Ximena thought.

‘I feel like my bones are about to shatter!‘ she groaned inwardly.

Grace rolled up her sleeves, looking like she was about to throw down. “Oh? Ximena, you wanna find out what it’s like to get stabbed?”
“You! You! You!” Ximena shouts out.
Ximena was about to explode with
rage.
‘How can Grace be so damn vicious with her words?‘ Ximena fumed inwardly.
Grace put her hands on her hips. “What’s with all the ‘you–you–you‘? Did you suddenly turn into a stutterer, Ximena?”
At the same time, Grace strolled over to Ximena. “I’ve been dabbling in medicine lately, and lucky you, Ximena, how about I let you try out my scalpel? That way, I can kill two birds with one stone.”
As she spoke, Grace reached for Ximena, fingers twitching like she was ready to operate.
Ximena jolted back like she’d touched a live wire, eyes locked warily on Grace. “Grace, I’m warning you, if you dare do anything to me…”
Grace slapped Ximena right across the face. “I try to be civil, and you give me that side–eye, acting all tough? What, you wanna take a bite outta me?”
“With your mouth full of crap and your face looking like a damn mess, you really think you’re somebody? Guess I’ve been way too nice to you, now you don’t even know your place.” she added.
“You plot against my son, then have the guts to come here and put on your cheap act? That nasty vibe of yours is stinking up the whole house, seriously, can’t you smell your own bullshit?”
“I’ve been way too tolerant, and now you think you’re shit. If it wasn’t for your husband being my husband’s brother, I’d tear up that toad face of yours without a second thought,” she said.
“Hear me loud and clear, from now on, keep your distance. Your stink is making me gag. If you ever dare hover around me again, I’ll knock your front teeth out!” she added.
After her rant, Grace tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, lounged back on the couch with effortless grace, and cooed in a voice so sweet it could melt butter, “Honey, I’m parched from all that yelling. Could you get me some water?”
Rocco and Walker were both greedy beyond belief, always biting off way more than they could chew. And these two women? Just as clueless, thinking they could show up, put on a sob story, and threaten her? Please, what a joke.
