Five minutes later, Simon and Patrick crawled ow from the rubble,

Patrick stared at the collapsed zone in front of him and instantly realized something was wrong, “Shit, Nina and Vincent are gone! I think Vincent,

Before he could finish, Patrick felt something cold press against the back of his head.

A deep voice spoke in his ear, “Take them away, then restore the scene

Restore the scene? Patrick wondered,

With such a massive collapse? How could they possibly pull that off? Patrick’s mind raced.

So they’re trying to make it look like Nina was never involved at all, he realized.

‘Vincent and Samuel are probably in cahoots, Patrick thought

Nina was perfectly fine under the rubble.

Vincent had thrown himself over her, shielding her from any harm.

And Vincent? He was totally unscathed as well.

He was wearing a custommade vest that could withstand a hundred kilos and deflect the impact.

Nina pinned Vincent’s arms behind his back. “You were plotting against me!”

Vincent grinned. “Seriously, with your brains, you still don’t get it?”

Nina wanted to know where Scarlet was, so Vincent used that as bait to draw her in

As for Samuel, he wasn’t about to let Nina find Scarlet before his plan was finished. That way, Vincent could kill two birds with one stone and get exactly what he wanted.

Nina pulled away from Vincent, her eyes cold. “Didn’t I tell you not to mess with Ryan?”

Vincent spread his hands and shrugged. “I didn’t target him, just sent him a present. Whether he can resist when he sees it. that’s his problem. You always say you trust Ryan, right? Well, guess I’m just helping you see if that trust is real”

Nina looked at him with an expressionless face, not saying a word.

Vincent gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, his tone soft. “If he passes your test, I swear I’ll walk get in your way again.”

Nina just glanced at Vincent and ignored him completely.

Nina glanced upward.

away and never

Above her, the sky was bright blue, and the walls stretched up so high that it felt like they were trapped in a giant pit.

This place was dug out crazy deep.

She scanned the area, tunnels crisscrossed everywhere, like some underground labyrinth.

Nina crossed her arms. “What did you give Samuel to make him hand over his hideout to you?

The place was packed with equipment for researching potions, and there were clear signs someone had been living here.

Nina could tell Samuel had been here for ages.

For Samuel to give up such an important spot, Vincent must have paid a hefty price.

Vincent strolled over with a sly grin. “No guts, no glory. The person you want, that’s my way of proving I’m for real”

Nina didn’t know what to say.

‘Is Vincent seriously planning to use me as bait, then swoop in to save Scarlet just to impress me?‘ Nina thought. “You really think Ryan would just stay cool if I suddenly vanished?” Nina shot back.

Walker had weathered plenty of storms in his life, but this scene left him dumbfounded. “You’re supposed to be arresting Ryan! Why are you taking me?”

The lead officer’s face was stone–cold. “We’re here for you, Walker and Rocco. You’re suspected of selling company secrets and embezzling public funds. You’re coming with us for questioning.”

“No way!” Walker roared. “Ryan’s the one who stole the money.”

But before he could finish, Walker suddenly realized it; Ryan had just played them at their own game.

“You! This is your doing, isn’t it?” Walker shot Ryan a glare so fierce that if looks could kill, Ryan would be six feet under a hundred times over.

Ryan lounged back in his leather chair, tapping his long fingers lazily on the desk with a faint, mocking smile. “Uncle, what are you even talking about? The Justice Bureau does things by the book. As if I could pull any tricks on them.”

Keep pretending! You think you can kick us out of the Foster family just like that?” Walker yelled with anger. “I’m your uncle! Family ties don’t break so easily. If something happens to Martin and me, do you really think Grandpa will just watch?”

Rocco bellowed right after, “Ryan, this is a setup! Walker and I were only thinking about the company, but you went and pulled this stunt just to get what you want!”

Ryan raised an eyebrow, his tone cool and unhurried. “Oh? If the elders of the Foster family can’t tell right from wrong and. choose to shield sons who stab their own family in the back, then I’d rather not have a grandpa at all.”

Walker was stunned into silence.

Rocco was at a total loss for words.

‘He’s gone completely insane!‘ Walker thought.

‘Has he lost his mind?‘ Rocco thought. Ryan must be out of his mind!‘ they thought.

He was actually willing to send his own uncles off to the Justice Bureau, and now he was even ready to not acknowledge his own grandpa just for that!

Zachary, who wasn’t even there, was like, “What the heck?”

Wow, you two really know how to focus on the wrong thing. Zachary thought.

Forget about protecting you two, Ryan might just stop calling me Grandpa altogether! Zachary grumbled to himself.

And if Ryan ever dared to protect you two, I’d disown him as my grandson!‘ Zachary fumed inwardly.

Walker tried to get another word in, but the Justice Bureau shut him down fast, dragging him and Rocco out without a second thought.

As Walker and Rocco were dragged out of Foster Group, the swarm of reporters outside didn’t miss a beat; they blasted the whole scene onto the hot search, making them headline news in seconds.

Real–time updates flooded the web, and Ryan’s act of putting justice above family, sending his own uncles to jail, instantly blew up online, dominating every feed.
