However, she was not picking up. All she did was leave behind a signed divorce agreement before vanishing into thin air. What 

was this? A sign of her disappointment 

Simon did not dare think further into this. He picked up his phone again and called his secretary. 

Mobilize all of our men and bring Bertha back to me.” 

He would not be able to relax unless he received news about Bertha. He did not know where she had gotten those photos and 

videos from. As for those messages, they sounded so provocative and confident. But he had wiped out all possible signs of trouble, so who could have possibly sent those things to Bertha? 

Right then, he thought of the only person who could have possibly done this–Luna. 

He turned on the computer again. Just as he had expected, he saw that the profile was the exact same as Luna’s. He had ignored it earlier. 

*She must have a death wish…” 

He glared at the woman in the photo and wanted to drag her over to teach her a lesson immediately. 

He had already warned Luna before that Bertha was the one thing she could not touch. Luna could do whatever she wanted, and 

he would let her be as long as she did not hurt Bertha. 

However, he had forgotten that humans were greedy, and he had spoiled Luna rotten. He had made her  

want for more. Besides, she had gotten pregnant and become even more out of control, so much so that she wanted them to become an official couple. 

Simon thought that he had kept this a tight–knit secret, but Bertha still ended up finding out. Nevertheless, Bertha was in the wrong too! 

How could she not be wrong when she just left without a word? 

She did not even give him a chance to turn over a new leaf. He did keep a mistress, but a lifetime was so long, and no one could possibly stay loyal to one person forever. 

To make matters worse, Bertha was deaf 

He said that he would take care of her forever, and he would keep his promise. Over the years, he had looked for doctors all over the world for her. Yet, she still did whatever she wanted! His friends were right; he had been too good to Bertha. 

Before Simon’s secretary delivered his report, he wondered whether he should even tell Simon about it. He knew that Simon 

treated Bertha like his life. If he learned that she had died, he would definitely break down. But if he did not, Simon would learn about it sooner or later. When that happened, not only would he get yelled at, but he might even be fired. 

Simon’s heart leaped to his throat, and he asked impatiently, “What happened to her?!” 

“She got into an accident and died on the spot two days ago. They couldn’t recover her body.” 

When Simon heard this, he froze and felt as if his entire world had crumbled. He could not believe what he had heard. 

Bertha died in a car accident? 

It happened two days ago? 

His thoughts were a jumbled mess. All of his rationality and anger faded away as he slumped down in his chair like a puppet with its strings cut. 

Two days ago, he had intended to make plans with Bertha for their anniversary. She had told him that she wanted to give him a gift. But everything changed in just two short days. Bertha had run away and gotten into an accident… 

Yet, he did not even do anything heinous. He had just kept a mistress! She could have yelled at him, hit him, and even asked for a 

divorce. How could she just leave him forever like this? 

Simon could not believe any of it. 

‘No. She has to be hiding somewhere. Once I find her, I’ll apologize to her,‘ he thought. 

However, that was not the reality. When the secretary did not receive a response, he was worried that Simon did not hear him 

clearly, so he repeated, “Mr. Zimmer, Mrs. Zimmer died in a car crash…”
