Quentin spared a quick glance at me. Maybe he had noticed the look on my face, but something seemed to shift in him.
A low growl left his lips. Before I could get a word in, he had stepped on the gas, bringing the car to a pretty high speed.
My grip on the arm rest tightened as I turned to him. "Do you mind slowing down?"
He didn't say anything for a while, simply staring ahead while he drove as fast as he could. I could already feel my heart pounding against my chest.
Why was he going so fast? The fear was already gnawing at me as he increased his speed even more.
When I turned to him, he looked like he annoyed. I'd rarely ever seen him lose his cool no matter the situation we were in.
Which was why I couldn't hold back my surprise the longer I stared at him. "Hey. If you're ready to die, then by all means go ahead. But don't take me with you. My brothers would have your head if they found out about this."
We were approaching a really long bend and with how fast Quentin was going, I was already mentally bracing myself for impact.
Quentin swerved to the right, gracefully drifting through the turn with the practiced ease of someone who had been at this for quite some time now.
I was a bit shock where I sat. My gaze flicked to Quentin. Seeing him in such a state with his hair ruffled and a wild look in his eyes sent a wave of something else through me.
I never thought I'd ever get to see this side of him. For the longest time since I'd known him, he had always struck me as a dark and cold capitalist tycoon whose sole focus was his business and nothing more.
Never in my life would I have thought he had a wild side. And something like this too. Eventually, he brought the car to a steady pace and pressed on ahead.
When I sighed the estate from a distance, I felt my heart thrum even faster against my chest.
"Why are we coming here?" I turned to him.
"You'll see." He simply replied.
My heart was still thudding against my chest as we drove into the estate. When last had I been at this place?
"Askhan set me up back then."
I turned to Quentin. He finally turned to me, his eyes glinting with something unreadable. "He said he was going to film my affair with you and make a completely big deal about it."
