Chapter 129

Chapter 129

Violet

Bb youchets

She stared at the contract in my hand before lifting her gaze to me, those soft eyes searching my face. I held her stare, reading every shift in her expression. I waited for hesitation, fear, anything that would tell me she wasn’t ready, because if she was, I’d slow down, give her more time, even though I wanted her to be my wife more than I wanted my next breath. But what I saw instead was determination.

She took the contract from my hand, then took the pen, and leaned forward over the table to sign her name. The movement pressed her ass directly back against my hard cock, and I hissed, every shred of my patience thinning by the second.

Damn it. At this point I genuinely didn’t know if she was messing with me on purpose or if she was just acting in the most dangerous way possible for my sanity.

A while ago, all I wanted was to tease her, make her blush, watch her try to hide it, and feel the way her body tensed when she knew exactly what I was doing.

I loved seeing her cheeks turn pink, loved how she always got embarrassed and turned on whenever I pushed her a little too far. And I’d never cared if people were in the room or not; in a room full of people, the moment she walked in, everyone else blurred into nothing until there was only her.

What I wasn’t expecting was for her to flip the whole thing on me. And fuck, the moment she did, something inside me snapped in the best way possible. Watching her move with confidence, seeing her do exactly what she wanted without a hint of doubt made my cock throb against her.

I wanted to grab her right there, chase everyone out, bend her over the table and make it painfully clear what happens when I’m pushed past my limits. But I held myself back. She started this fire; I wanted to see how far she was willing to take it. And besides, she would face the consequences of teasing me like this.

She finished signing her name, her fingers tightening around the pen for a moment before she exhaled. The pen slipped from her hand and clattered softly onto the table. She picked up the signed document and turned to Silas, pushing it toward him.

Silas took it, scanned through the pages, and then looked up at us with a satisfied nod.

“Congratulations,” he said. “The two of you are legally married.”

A slow smirk spread across my face as I tightened my hand possessively around her waist.

Married. That word had never meant anything to me before, if anything, I used to hate the sound of it. But right now it felt like the greatest accomplishment of my entire life. Like I had just claimed something I’d been starving for, something I couldn’t live without. And having her standing next to me, officially mine, filled me with a pride so strong it nearly burned through my chest.

My wife.

Fuck, I liked that.

I liked that a lot.

“Honestly,” Sierra said, leaning back in her chair, “this is kind of surreal. I still can’t believe this crazy psychopath is married.”

Silas nodded immediately, like he’d been waiting for someone else to say it first. “Right? Someone is actually crazy enough. to marry him.” Then he turned to Violet with the most sympathetic expression I’ve ever seen that bastard fake. “No offense. Mrs. Sinclair. Since you’re married to him now, that makes me officially your lawyer. Anytime you feel like you can’t keep up

with him, let me know. I’ll help you get a divorce. Free of charge, on the grounds of emotional exhaustion.”

55 vouchers

Sierra raised her hand enthusiastically. “I will support that decision, even if it happens in a week. I know you tried. I can also introduce you to other men, maybe even someone sane.”

Violet looked between the two of them, unsure whether she should thank them.

I tilted my head, staring at the two idiots across the room. “Alec.”

Alec, who’d been leaning against the wall like a bored cat contemplating whether existing was worth the effort, finally lifted

his head. “Yes?”

“How much would it cost to buy two graves?” My voice came out deep, and dangerous.

Silas whipped toward me. “Hey, what the hell”

Alec didn’t even blink. He looked at Silas and then at Sierra with a slow, assessing glance before answering, completely serious, “Depends on the size.”

Silas stared at him like he’d personally been betrayed. “Wow. What a good friend you are. You’re looking for graves for your best friend.”

Alec shrugged and checked his watch. “I’m working right now. I have to put my job before anything else.”

Sierra crossed her legs and flashed Alec a teasing grin. “What about me, Alec? Will you kill me too? I mean, we used to be each other’s crushes when we were young, until I broke your little heart and became obsessed with women.”

Her tone alone was enough to grate on his nerves, which, knowing her, was exactly the point.

Alec turned his head toward me. “Hades, can I start with your cousin?”

I hummed under my breath, not bothering to look at him again. I’d lost interest in their nonsense the second Violet shifted on my lap. Pants or not, I wasn’t giving up. My hand slid higher along her thigh, drawing out the way her breath hitched. When my fingers finally brushed against her clit, she flinched, jerking my hand away, but I could tell she wanted more.

I simply put it back where it had been, a little firmer this time.

She glared at me, cheeks flushed, trying very hard to pretend her pulse wasn’t racing. Then she turned toward Sierra. “Sierra, can I ask you a favor?”

Sierra perked up instantly, already grinning like trouble. “Of course. As your sister-in-law, I will do everything. What do you

want?”

“I’ll be going to school tomorrow.*

Sierra raised a brow. “Are you going to school to learn, or because of your revenge?”

“Both,” Violet answered without hesitation. “I need to finish school. Exams will start soon.”

She leaned forward as she said it, resting her chin on her hand. And just like that, something in her shifted. Her eyes darkened, cunning, sharp in a way that made my pulse jolt. She didn’t even notice what she was doing to me, how easily she could twist my insides with one simple expression.

“I’ll take care of things at school,” she continued, her voice low and deceptively sweet. “And I’m going to make some people’s lives a living hell. Since I gave them a short break to do whatever they wanted…” Her lips curled into a slow smile. “It’s time to play a mouse and cat game with them.”

I grinned before I could stop myself.
