"No kidding. I don't know what Jude's holding out for. It's been over a decade, and he hasn't even looked at another woman."

Leaning against Hudson, Nora felt a sudden, inexplicable ache in her chest as she listened to the story.

"Is there really no hope of finding her?"

Grant shook his head. "It's a long shot. It happened over a decade ago. Back then, the Fairchild family tore Northampton apart looking for her. Then they searched the whole country, but still came up empty. After all this time, her face has changed, her name has probably changed. Even if she were standing right in front of them, they might not recognize her."

"Alright, enough crying over Jude's tragic love life. We're here to hunt, not to host a group therapy session."

Grant flashed a wide grin. "Come on, let's go pick our toys."

The Winslow family's armory was a standalone structure built at the base of the mountain. With its heavy gray stone walls and narrow windows, it looked like a miniature fortress.

Two security guards in black uniforms stood at the entrance, their bulging holsters making it clear they were heavily armed.

Jude had obviously given them a heads-up. When they saw Hudson, the guards didn't say a word, simply pulling open the massive iron doors.

The interior was much larger than expected.
