Nora finally realized what he was asking for. A fiery blush exploded across her face, sweeping down her neck and staining her collarbones a deep pink.

"Stop... Stop messing around."

"I'm not." His voice was a husky whisper, sinking straight into her bloodstream, sending her heart into a frantic sprint. "Let me look at you."

She squeezed her eyes shut, burying her face in the pillows as her heart hammered violently against her ribs.

Hudson didn't push. He simply waited in the heavy silence.

The only sound coming through the speaker was the heavy, strained rhythm of his breathing.

Biting her lip, Nora took a shaky breath, finally relenting as she slowly pulled the phone back.

On the screen, Hudson stood by the glass, the city lights glittering like a sea of stars behind him, though his gaze was infinitely darker and more captivating.

His shirt hung open, exposing the hard planes of his chest and collarbones, the sharp muscle definition illuminated perfectly by the cold glow of the screen.

His eyes were locked onto her, predatory and unblinking.

Nora propped the phone up against a pillow, hiding beneath the duvet so that only her eyes were visible.

A slow, dangerously restrained smile curved his lips, though a dark fire flared to life in his eyes.

Biting her lip, she slowly pulled the thick duvet down.

The room was dim, lit only by the soft, warm glow of a single bedside lamp that traced the delicate curves of her body.

She was wearing a blush-pink silk slip. The impossibly thin straps clung to her shoulders, the luxurious fabric leaving very little to the imagination.

She kept her eyes cast down, too flushed to look at the screen as her hands nervously gripped the sheets. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, an irresistible mix of shy innocence and raw temptation.
