Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 323

The drive from the airport to Cloudwater Estate was relatively short.

Exhausted from her breakdown, Nora fell asleep just minutes after getting into the car.

Her eyes were slightly swollen from crying, and her nose was tinted pink. Even in her tear-stained state, she looked heartbreakingly fragile.

Hudson held her close, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. The protectiveness in his gaze ran as deep as a bottomless ocean.

The ride was spent in complete silence.

Once they arrived at Cloudwater Estate, Hudson carefully carried a sleeping Nora upstairs to their bedroom.

He sat on the edge of the bed, watching her for a long time. Only when he was absolutely certain she was in a deep sleep did he quietly step out and head downstairs.

In the living room, Arthur, Archer, and Olive stood rigidly at attention.

Hearing his footsteps, their spines stiffened, a cold dread washing through their veins.

Hudson walked over to the sofa, his face completely devoid of emotion. He sat down and cast a chilling look over the trio.

Arthur pressed his lips into a thin line, stepping forward. "Boss, this is on me. I didn't keep an eye on him."

Olive immediately chimed in. "No, Boss, it's my fault. I—"

"Enough."

Hudson raised a hand, instantly silencing the room.

"Did you dig up his identity?"

Arthur swallowed hard. "We did."

In truth, the moment Arthur realized the man he dumped outside was gone, he had immediately launched an investigation.

They had pulled the airport security footage and confirmed the man had woken up and limped away on his own.

But it was only after uncovering the man's background that Arthur truly started to panic.

"His name is Arnold Vance," Arthur said, his throat tight, forcing every word out. "He's Mrs. Lancaster's... biological father."

Hudson's brow furrowed sharply. "Who did you say he was?"

"He is her biological father. He married Penelope Reed twenty-six years ago, and they had Mrs. Lancaster the following year."

"Later on, he was... convicted of assaulting a minor and served fifteen years in prison."
